    • A vehicle which may be three-wheeled or four-wheeled, for instance, a buggy comprises a front wheel and a wishbone suspension for supporting the front wheel and a power unit. The body frame comprises a left subframe, a right subframe of essentially quadrilateral configuration, each subframe having an upper side, a front side, a lower side and a rear side. A reinforcing bar connects the front side and the lower side. The subframes form a first loop. The reinforcing bar forms a second loop with the upper side, the rear side, the front side and the lower side. The second loop is within the first loop. The first loop supports the front wheel wishbone suspension and the second loop supports the power unit. The front side has an upper portion and a lower portion and the lower side has a forward portion and a rear portion and the second loop is formed by the upper side, the upper portion of the front side, the rear portion of the lower side and the rear side. A down bar connects the upper bar to the lower side and intersects the reinforcing bar at a point P. The wishbone suspension is supported by the reinforicng bar and the lower side forwardly of point P and the power unit is supported rearwardly of the point P by the reinforcing bar and the lower side.

    • A silencer includes: a porous inner pipe provided in a peripheral wall thereof with a large number of small pores; an outer pipe surrounding the porous inner pipe; a sound absorbing material incorporated in an annular clearance between the porous inner pipe and the outer pipe; and a plurality of exhaust gas expansion chambers defined in the porous inner pipe and arranged such that an exhaust gas is sequentially passed through the exhaust gas expansion chambers. The sound absorbing material is formed of a heat-resistant fiber layer which is wound around an outer peripheral surface of the porous inner pipe with a binder interposed therebetween, and an outer peripheral surface of the heat-resistant fiber layer is press-fitted to an inner peripheral surface of the outer pipe with a predetermined interference. Thus, it is possible to prevent a reduction in sound vanish effect due to the leakage and short-circuiting of an exhaust gas and a reduction in engine power performance.

    • A fairing of a sturdy structure designed to give a maximum of driving safety without impairing the steerability of the vehicle. The yoke structure to which a windshield is secured is comprised of a central rod and a pair of side rods secured to the front end thereof and includes a forwardly open U-shaped top formation within which an instrument panel is positioned, enabling the rider to observe the instruments without lowering the direction of his sight to any substantial extent. A light shield is arranged to prevent any reflection glare otherwise occurring on the inside surface of the windscreen when the instruments are illuminated during drive at night. The yoke structure is designed to be detachably connected with the body frame of the motorcycle at three locations thereon by simple fastening means. The windshield not only protects the rider from wind, rain and dust but is adapted to serve a number of additional functions. Namely, a pair of side reflectors are mounted outside the opposite side portions of the windshield and a pair of luggage boxes are detachably secured to the side shield portions on the inside thereof and, when removed, leave ample space for maintenance operation. The U-shaped top yoke formation serves also as frame means for protecting the instrument panel even if the motorcycle is accidentally turned sideways.
