摘要： A phosphor expressed fundamentally as YA10.sub.3 :Ce is produced through baking under a usual condition of a mixture of Y.sub.2 O.sub.3, Al.sub.2 O.sub.3, CeO.sub.2 and a controlled amount of barium compound exemplified by BaCO.sub.3, BaO, Ba(OH).sub.2 and BaF.sub.2. The presence of the barium compound in the mixture causes intensification of ultraviolet emission and/or suppression of the formation of blue-emitting Y.sub.3 Al.sub.5 O.sub.12 :Ce. The use of BaF.sub.2 as the barium compound or partial replacement of at least one of Y.sub.2 O.sub.3 and Al.sub.2 O.sub.3 respectively by YF.sub.3 and AlF.sub.3 is favorable to the intensification of the ultraviolet emission.

摘要： A cerium-activated yttriumaluminate phosphor such as YA10.sub.3 :Ce featuring an enhanced luminous intensity is produced by adding a barium compound exemplified by BaO, BaCO.sub.3, Ba(OH).sub.2 and BaF.sub.3 to a mixture of source materials of the host material and the activator and baking the resulting mixture at a usual temperature ranging from 1000.degree. to 1400.degree. 摘要： A small infrared sensor has a wide infrared light-receiving area (viewing angle), high electromagnetic shielding characteristics, and excellent electromagnetic-wave resistance characteristics. In the infrared sensor, supporting portions are disposed at four corners of a substantially rectangular opening in a package. The supporting portions support an optical filter, disposed so as to cover the opening, at positions that are lower than an upper end of an inner peripheral wall defining the opening. While the optical filter is supported by the supporting portions as a result of inserting a portion of a surface side of the optical filter facing the supporting portions into the opening, the optical filter is secured to the package. The optical filter and the package are joined and secured, and electrically connected to each other through a conductive adhesive.

摘要： A DC power source unit supplies a DC voltage to an electrically powered tool through an adapter and also charges a battery pack used as an alternative power source of the tool. With the DC power source unit of the invention, a microcomputer receives a temperature signal indicative of a temperature of the battery pack and determines that the battery pack is fully charged based on the temperature signal. This determination is made regardless of whether the battery pack is being charged or not. As such, the fully charged condition of the battery pack can be accurately detected even if the tool is operated when the battery pack is almost fully charged.
