    • A plurality of clamp devices for clamping a cable or a pipe connected to an end effector of a robot are mounted to a robot wrist portion. A first clamp device has a base and a clamp portion configured to slide linearly with respect to the base and be also capable of turning about an axis perpendicular to the slide direction. A second clamp device has a base and a clamp portion configured to be capable of turning about an axis perpendicular to the installation surface of the base. A third clamp device has a revolving unit fitted to the circumference of the arm and configured to be capable of pivotal motion in the circumferential direction of the arm and a clamp portion provided on the circumference of the revolving unit to be capable of turning about an axis in the radial direction of the revolving unit. The clamp portions of these clamp devices are adapted to clamp the cable or the pipe extending to the end effector.

    • An operation region detection device includes a dog, a support member for supporting it, and a detection switch outputting a signal based on contact or noncontact with the corresponding dog. The support member is arranged in a hollow part of a joint of a robot and attached to one of two link members of the robot rotatable relative to each other so that a center axis of the support member is substantially aligned with a rotation axis of relative rotation of the two link members. The dog is attached to the outer circumference of the support member and has a length corresponding to a predetermined detection region along a peripheral direction of the outer circumference. The detection switch is provided on the other of the two link members at a position facing the dog to detect a region to which a current position of the relative rotation belongs based on the state of output of the signal. An operation range restricting device for restricting an operation range of the relative rotation based on a region to which a current position of the detected relative rotation belongs.

    • A motor includes a shaft including upper and lower shaft members spaced axially away from each other. A shaft connecting member made of electrically insulating material is arranged axially between the upper and lower shaft members. The shaft connecting member is provided with fitting portions to which the upper and lower shaft members are to be fitted. While the upper and lower shaft members are secured to the shaft connecting member, the rotor magnet is integrally formed with the upper and lower shaft members and the shaft connecting member. With this configuration, an axial electric current is prevented from flowing through the shaft by the shaft connecting member.
