    • A vacuum circuit breaker including a vacuum interrupter with a fixed electrode and a movable electrode arranged to be moved into contact with or separated from the fixed electrode. The vacuum circuit breaker includes a movable rod mounted on the movable electrode, an operating mechanism unit for generating operating force to perform the opening and closing operation of the vacuum interrupter, a main shaft mounted on the operating mechanism unit and a drive lever rotatably mounted on the operating mechanism unit by the main shaft for transmitting the operating force towards the vacuum interrupter. The vacuum circuit breaker further includes a crank lever rotatably mounted at a working end of the drive lever and a pressurizing unit provided in the drive lever and the crank lever for generating resilient force to resiliently maintain closed condition of the vacuum interrupter. A first end of the crank lever is linked to the movable rod and transmits the operating force to the movable rod and a second end of the crank lever is linked to the pressurizing unit and transmits the resilient force to the movable rod.

    • An operating mechanism for a circuit breaker including a frame, a spring shaft mounted on the frame and rotatable around a central axis thereof, a spring case having a notch in an outer periphery thereof and rotatable around the central axis, a rotating spring provided in the spring case and having a first end secured to the spring shaft and a second end secured to the spring case, a cam secured to the spring shaft and rotatable along with the spring shaft, and a catch rotatably mounted on the spring case. The catch is at an original position at the notch inside the outer periphery of the spring case by a spring. The operating mechanism further includes a charging device for rotating the spring case to charge the rotating spring and a control lever rotatably mounted on the frame and having an end portion engaged with the cam, the catch and the outer periphery of the spring case for performing closing and opening control of the charging device. The spring shaft is rotated by a driving force of the rotating spring for causing the control lever to perform the closing control of the charging device. The spring case is rotated by the charging device to charge the rotating spring for causing the control lever to perform the opening control of the charging device.

    • In a closing magnetic circuit, when a movable contact is in contact with a fixed contact and a switching device is closed, N and S poles of a permanent magnet attract the fixed member in a direction in which the movable contact is pressed against the fixed contact. In an opening magnetic circuit, when the movable contact is separated from the fixed contact and the switching device is open, one of the N and S poles of the permanent magnet attracts the fixed member in a direction in which the movable contact is separated from the fixed contact. An operating electromagnet winding increases and decreases the magnetism in the closing magnetic circuit and opening magnetic circuit. With this configuration, it is possible to realize an operating apparatus for a switching device using a simple mechanism and assure a stable operation by producing a great contact load.
