    • A developing unit of the present invention includes a developing roller facing a photoconductive element and formed with a magnetic layer on its circumference. The magnetic layer has a plurality of magnetic poles of opposite polarities alternating with each other and each extending in the axial direction of the developing roller. A developer consisting of magnetic particles an toner are deposited on the developing roller by the magnetic poles and conveyed by the roller to the photoconductive element carrying a latent image thereon, thereby developing the latent image. An agitator for agitating the magnetic particles and toner is positioned relative to the developing roller such that a blade thereof has an agitation range overlapping with the magnetic force range of the magnet layer. With this configuration, it is possible to insure high quality images free from background contamination and toner scattering while extending the service life of the developing unit.

    • A developing device includes a carrying roller configured to carry a developer. A storing section is configured to store the developer. The conveying unit includes a pump with a stator having a through-hole, and a rotor disposed in the through-hole of the stator and spirally extended such that a cavity to convey the developer is formed between an outer peripheral surface of the rotor and an inner peripheral surface of the through-hole of the stator, the rotor being configured to convey the developer in the cavity in an axial direction of the rotor by eccentrically rotating. An air supplying unit is configured to supply air to the developer conveyed by the pump to scatter and fluidize the developer.

    • A transfer apparatus is provided of the type in which a toner image formed on a photosensitive member is transferred onto a transfer or copy sheet. The apparatus is used in a copying machine of a so-called delivery type in which the sheet is conveyed using a sheet gripper. During the transfer of a toner image, the appartus applies a corona discharge to the rear side of the sheet which is of the opposite polarity from that of the toner image. The apparatus comprises a diaphragm member for restricting an opening of a transfer charger and disposed between the transfer charger and the photosensitive member, the diaphragm member being movable away from the photosensitive member as the sheet gripper passes between the transfer charger and the photosensitive member.

    • A steering control section has a first steering angle correction amount calculating section, a second steering angle correction amount calculating section, and a motor rotational angle calculating section. The first correction amount calculating section calculates a first correction amount based on a vehicle speed and an actual steering wheel angle. The second correction amount calculating section calculates a second correction amount through multiplying a control gain corresponding to the vehicle speed with a value calculated by low-pass filtering a differential value of steering wheel angle. The motor rotational angle calculating section calculates a motor rotational angle corresponding to the value adding the first and second steering angle correction amount, and outputs it to a motor driving section so as to drive an electric motor for correcting the steering angle. Thereby, an unstable vehicle behavior due to a resonance of a yaw motion caused in the steering operation can be suppressed.
