    • A laser scanning device for measuring the distance to an object in a target area by projecting laser light scanningly is provided not only with a light receiving element for receiving reflected light from the target area to detect its intensity but also with an auxiliary light receiving element for receiving reflected light from a neighboring area which will be scanned next. The gain of amplifier for amplifying the intensity of light received by the light receiving element is adjusted based on the intensity of light received by the auxiliary light receiving element so as to avoid saturation. A one-dimensional or two-dimensional light receiving element for simultaneously receiving reflected light from a plurality of areas including the target area may be used instead.

    • A laser beam projector has a laser light source that outputs a laser beam, a light projecting mirror for reflecting the laser beam outputted from the laser light source, a mirror driving device for oscillating the light projecting mirror so as to scan a specified area with the laser beam and piezoelectric elements attached to a back surface of the light projecting mirror. As a voltage is applied to the piezoelectric elements, the curvature of the reflecting surface of the light projecting mirror can be changed and the visibility angle of the light beam projector can be varied. A distance measuring device is formed with such a laser beam projector together with a laser beam receiver for receiving reflected waves of the laser beam from an object and a control unit for measuring the distance to the object based on the difference between the time of projecting the laser beam and the time of receiving the reflected waves by the laser beam receiver as well as the direction of the object from the direction of the projected laser beam.

    • Provided is a method of producing a circuit board that can stably provide normal circuit boards by preventing the solder detachment and the generation of needle-like crystals during the formation of solder bumps. The method of producing a circuit board includes steps of forming an adhesive layer by applying an adhesiveness-imparting compound to the surface of a terminal of the circuit board; attaching solder particles onto the adhesive layer; applying an activator that includes a hydrohalic acid salt of an organic base to the solder particles and fixing the solder particles by heating the circuit board to which the solder particles have been attached at a temperature equal to or lower than the melting point of the solder; applying a flux to the circuit board to which the solder particles have been fixed; and melting the solder particles by heating the circuit board.
