    • An object of this invention is to provide a method for processing signals for an optical disc device and an optical disc device for immediately determining the on-track state of a main beam light impinging on an optical disc including land areas on which information is recorded, said optical disc being track-formatted to have a double spiral structure. In recording or reproducing information on or from the land areas while track-controlling a first reflected light (MB) based on a second reflect light (SB1) and a third reflect light (SB2), the phases of a sum signal (SUM) and a difference signal (DIFF) between a first push-pull signal (PP1) obtained from an output from a first split photo conductor (21) and a second push-pull signal (PP2) obtained from an output from a second split photo conductor (23) are compared to determine from the mutual phase relationship which land area is providing the first reflected light (MB).

    • An information memory control system include: a memory unit having a memory medium for storing a plurality of information in the form of a plurality of data blocks each of which contains an information data and an attribute data of the information data; an access unit for accessing the memory unit so as to read out each of the data blocks from the memory medium; a selection unit directly coupled to the memory unit for distributing each of the read-out data blocks to a plurality of output ports of the selection unit according to the attribute data; a processing unit coupled to one of the output ports of the selection unit as so to correspond to the attribute data for processing the information data according to the attribute data; and an output device coupled to the processing unit for outputting the processed information data. A plurality of processing units can be respectively coupled to the plurality of output ports of the selection unit, and a plurality of output devices can be respectively coupled to the plurality of processing units.

    • In sequential processings of converting input picture data springs having unitary picture data in succession to picture data of a form adapted for displaying, storing the resultant picture data and then displaying the same in a display, a first detection data and a second detection data are monitored. The first detection data is indicative of commencement of the unitary picture data and is detected from the input picture data strings. The second detection data is indicative of termination of the conversion and is detected on the unitary picture data basis. If the second detection data has not been detected at the time when the first detection data has been detected, the unitary picture data detected with the first detection data is invalidated and the unitary picture data is left unprocessed. If the second detection data has been detected at the time when the first detection data has detected, the unitary picture data detected with the first detection data is transferred to a subsequent stage for implementing a subsequent processing with respect to the unitary picture data. As such, even if the picture data is inputted independently of a processing ability of a picture data processing apparatus, the data can be processed and outputted in conformity with the processing ability of the apparatus.
