    • An adapter has a cylindrical body which is screwed onto a battery post, and a flange portion formed on a top portion of the cylindrical body to be clamped by a screwing tool. A terminal body includes a substantially U-shaped adaptor fitting portion which accommodates the adapter therein, and a seat portion on which an electric wire terminal is fixed. A lever includes a cam portion and is supported on the terminal body so as to be pivotable between a first position and a second position. A space in which the flange portion is capable of passing through is secured inside of the adaptor fitting portion when the lever is in the first position. The cam portion is abutted against an outer periphery of the cylindrical body of the adaptor so that the adaptor is retained between the cam portion and an inner face of the adaptor fitting portion, when the lever is in the second position. The flange portion of the adaptor is engaged with a top end face of the adapter fitting portion of the terminal body.

    • An electric wire includes a conductive core wire and an insulative sheath covering the core wire. An elastic waterproof plug is fit with the electric wire such that a first longitudinal end portion thereof is fit with the core wire, and a second longitudinal end portion thereof is fit with the sheath. A conductive terminal is electrically connected with the electric wire, and inserted into a terminal insertion hole formed in the waterproof connector housing together with the waterproof plug to seal the terminal insertion hole. The terminal includes a first clamping member which clamps over the first end portion of the waterproof plug, and a second clamping member which clamps over a part of the core wire exposed from the first end portion of the waterproof plug.

A connector housing includes a terminal chamber for accommodating the terminal and a wall portion having a through hole formed so as to oppose to the terminal chamber, through which the electric wire is inserted. A recess for accommodating the rubber plug to thereby seal the electric wire and the terminal chamber. The recess is formed on an inner side face of the wall portion of the connector housing so as to communicate with the through hole of the wall portion. A window hole is formed on a part of the wall portion surrounding the recess so as to expose an anti-sealing part of the rubber plug accommodated in the recess.

A buffer mechanism (40) is provided at the housing (3), and during returning movement of the slider (10) from the non-lock position to the lock position by the resilient force of the compression springs (9), the buffer mechanism abuts against the slider (10) before the lock projection (7) abuts against the slider, so as to absorb an impingement energy by an elastic deformation thereof.
