    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an energy load control system suitable for a personal space inexpensively, the control system being capable of contributing to energy saving by preventing a malfunction such that a person's absence is determined when the person rests for a fixed time without being affected by disturbance, and appropriately controlling the operation of lighting and air conditioning or the like immediately after the person leaves to appropriately reduce the energy load.
SOLUTION: The energy load control system includes: devices having unit sections obtained by dividing the inside of a room as a personal space as an energy load target area; a controller which controls energy loads of the devices; and a high-accuracy human body detecting sensor disposed in each unit section, the sensor having a detection range substantially corresponding to each unit section. An infrared detection part of the sensor is composed of a multi-element thermopile array capable of detecting the energy load target area, and an assembled infrared light collector, whereby the energy load of the personal space is accurately controlled by precisely determining a person's presence/absence.

    • PURPOSE:To increase a life of a battery by connecting a discharge circuit for discharging the battery at a current value of a nominal capacity, in parallel with a charging terminal in a charger for a nickel-cadmium battery, once discharging the battery to be charged at a rate of 100% 1C, where 1C is a current value to discharge the nominal capacity of a battery for 1 hour, and then starting charging. CONSTITUTION:A battery 1 to be charged such as a nickel-cadmium battery, etc., is connected between charging terminals 1A and 1B. An output of a power source 2 in which a commercial power source is rectified to obtain a DC voltage, is supplied to the terminals 1A, 1B through a charging circuit 3 and a changeover switch 4. The circuit 3 has a battery voltage detector 8, a reference voltage supply circuit 9, a voltage comparator 10, and a drive circuit 11. When a discharge is continued and the battery is discharged by 100%, the output C of the comparator 10 becomes 0V, the circuit 11 becomes a NOT operating state, a relay 7 and a lamp 12 are turned OFF, and the discharge through a discharge resistor R1 is stopped. A user may change the switch 4 to the charging side 4b by turning OFF the lamp 12.

    • PURPOSE:To control an air conditioner so that many of residents feel the controlled environment comfortable, by a method wherein a value of the set temperature plus a fluctuation factor is set as a target temperature, and a value of the set air flow rate plus a fluctuation factor is set as a target air flow rate. CONSTITUTION:At a temperature control element 6 of a controller 3, an adder 6a calculates a target temperature T0 by adding a fluctuation factor Ts (t) to a set temperature T1, and a subtracter 6b determines a temperature control signal Tc by subtracting an actual temperature T from the target temperature T0. On the other hand, at a air flow rate control element 7, a setter 7a sets a target air flow rate E1 based on the temperature control signal Tc supplied from the temperature control element 6, and an adder 7a determines an air flow rate control signal Ec by adding a fluctuation factor Es (t) to the target air flow rate E1. When the temperature control signal Tc is positive, an air conditioner 2 regulate the temperature of air A so that the room temperature is raised in proportion to the magnitude of the temperature control signal Tc, and on the other hand, when the temperature control signal Tc is negative, the air conditioner controls the temperature of the air A so that the room temperature is lowered in proportion to the absolute magnitude of the temperature control signal Tc.
