    • A fuel assembly spacer grid including swirl deflectors respectively arranged at interconnections between interconnecting longitudinally and laterally-extending straps on upper ends of the interconnecting straps adapted to support fuel elements of a nuclear fuel assembly. Each of the swirl deflectors has four vanes bent to have an air vane shape. By virtue of this configuration, an improvement in the efficiency of the spacer grid cooling the fuel elements. The spacer grid also includes springs each configured to generate not only a main spring force caused by a displacement of the spring occurring when the spring comes into contact with a fuel element placed in a reactor core, but also an additional spring force caused by hydraulic pressure applied to the spring. Each spring, which is in a fixed state at one end thereof, has a free bent portion at the other end. By virtue of such a spring configuration, it is possible to compensate for a reduction in the initial spring force of the spring resulting from a change in the property of the spring material. The spring has a curved contact portion configured in such a manner that it is in conformal surface contact with a circumferential surface of the fuel element, thereby enhancing vibration suppressing and abrasion resistance forces.

    • An image forming apparatus, a developing unit thereof and a method of controlling the developing unit. The image forming apparatus includes a photosensitive body on which an electrostatic latent image is formed, a light scanning unit which scans a beam onto the photosensitive body, a developing unit which includes a housing having an agitating space and a supply space, the agitating space and the supply space communicating with each other through two gates to circulate a developer, an agitating auger rotatably mounted in the agitating space to transfer the developer, a supply auger rotatably mounted in the supply space to transfer the developer, and a magnetic roller which receives the developer by the supply auger and adheres the developer to the photosensitive body, a rotation control unit which controls rotation of the agitating auger and the supply auger, and a transfer unit which transfers a visible image formed on the photosensitive body onto a printing medium. When the developer is concentrated on any one of two gates, one of the augers, which is positioned on a downstream side of the gate on which the developer is concentrated, temporarily stops rotating by the rotation control unit, and the developer concentrated on the gate is transferred from the gate by the other one of the augers, which is positioned on an upstream side of the gate on which the developer is concentrated.

    • Disclosed is an automatic gain control device in an orthogonal frequency division multiplexing system. A variable gain amplifier controls a gain of an input signal; an energy calculator calculates an energy of the input signal; a truncator accumulates the calculated energies, finds an average thereof, and generates a DC offset of the input signal; a subtracter subtracts a predefined reference value from the DC offset, and outputs a signal; and an RC filter feeds the value output by the subtracter back to the variable gain amplifier so that the value output by the subtracter may be used for an automatic gain control. The predefined reference value given to be 4.Ov is a reference power generated based on a saturation to RMS ratio for minimizing the bit error rate of the orthogonal frequency division multiplexing system.

    • There is disclosed a visible light communication technology capable of intuitively recognizing a transmission speed, an alignment status, a communication status, or a transmission rate. A visible light communication apparatus according to an embodiment of the present invention includes: a light source selecting unit selecting at least one light source of a plurality of light sources generating lights having different wavelengths by considering intuitive information distinguished depending on a wavelength in a visible light band; and a visible light communication unit performing visible light communication by at least one selected light source to allow the intuitive information to be recognized by a color corresponding to at least one selected light source. Accordingly, a user using the visible light communication can intuitively know an optimal communication status or transmission speed.

The open-loop power controller measures a received signal strength to control the transmission power, and increases a gain of the power amplifier according to the received signal strength. The gain controller sets a power concentration gain and applies the power concentration gain to the transmission signal when the gain of the power amplifier is maximized. The modulator modulates the transmission signal. The digital/analog converter converts an input signal to an analog signal. The gain controller applies the power concentration gain to the trans mission signal modulated by the modulator, and transmits the power concentration gain to the digital/analog converter.
