摘要： Method and device for dissipating the heat occurring in the cooling of internal combustion engines and in machines driven by these into the surroundings. A cooling tower is used, and in order to increase its natural draught it is proposed that the cooling air, flowing inside the tower and heated by the heat dissipated, be further heated by the admixture of hot exhaust gases flowing out of the engine. To this end a hot gas distributing device (29), which is assembled with a heat exchanger for the medium (31) to be cooled and has a plurality of distribution ducts, is arranged in the cooling tower (27).

The outlet section 5 may be extended by a chimney (15, Fig. 3). In the form shown, the fluid cooled in the heat exchanger 4 emanates from a power station 13 located in a horizontal section 1 of the underground passage, and the power station chimney 14 extends into the upright section 5 of the passage.

The steam generating means 1 may be an atomic reactor.
