    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a controller for automatic engine stop and start capable of further promoting the improvement of fuel consumption when controlling automatic stop and automatic start of an on-vehicle engine.
      SOLUTION: An inlet pipe 12 is connected with a fuel tank 10 for supplying fuel to the engine 2. A flapper valve 14 is provided on an outer end part of the inlet pipe 12. These inlet pipe 12 and flapper valve 14 are opened and shut off for the outside of a vehicle by a fuel lid 16. An opening condition of the fuel lid 16 is detected by an oil supply detection sensor 75. The engine 2 is automatically stopped when it is judged that oil is being supplied due to the detection of the opening condition of the fuel lid 16 by the oil supply detection sensor 75.
