摘要： An engine has cylinder head and cylinder block cooling jackets. A control system controls a valve system to circulate fluid through a conduit system, the jackets and a radiator in various flow patterns. If the block jacket cooling fluid temperature is less than a warmup completion temperature, the control system establishes a combined conduit circuit including both the head and the block cooling jacket but not including the radiator, and makes a cooling fan system for the radiator blow relatively weakly. If the block jacket cooling fluid temperature is greater than the warmup completion temperature, then, if it is less than an overheating temperature higher than that, the control system establishes two substantially separate conduit circuits, one including the head cooling jacket and the radiator, and the other including the block cooling jacket but not the radiator; but, if it is greater, the control system establishes a combined conduit circuit including both the head and block cooling jacket and also the radiator. If the block jacket cooling fluid temperature is greater than a block fan trigger temperature equal to or slightly higher than the warmup completion temperature, then: if the head jacket cooling fluid temperature is less than a head fan trigger temperature less than the warmup completion temperature, the control system makes the fan system blow relatively weakly; while, if the head jacket cooling fluid temperature is greater than this head fan trigger temperature, the control system makes the fan system blow relatively strongly.

摘要： PURPOSE:To enable the operating characteristics of a valve to be switched quickly, by pneumatically driving a plunger which is a means for switching the operating characteristics thereof and reducing the pressure of air when the plunger approaches the point where the operation is terminated. CONSTITUTION:Changeover of the operating characteristics of a valve is attained by axially displacing a cam shaft 1 so that either cam 5 or 6 can rock a rocker arm 9. The displacement of the cam shaft 1 is controlled by a plunger 27 which is disposed inside a fixed member 21 and moved in response to the pressure of oil supplied according to the action of solenoid valves 50 and 51. The pressure of compressed air inside either chamber 30 or 31 is reduced when the plunger 27 reaches the point at which either the cam 5 or 6 engages with the rocker arm 9. Since the energy for removing the plunger has no need of being stored in a spring or so, quick changeover action may be attained.

摘要： PURPOSE:To greatly accelerate the combustion speed of an engine under low load by providing a secondary throttle valve in each suction passage running behind a primary throttle valve, and an auxiliary suction passage for bypassing the secondary throttle valve. CONSTITUTION:Under low load operation where a primary throttle valve 25 opens little, the pressure in a suction duct 24 comes approximately equal to the atmospheric pressure. On the other hand, the pressure in a suction manifold 22 downstream the primary throttle valve 25 is greatly reduced to a negative pressure, thereby causing each secondary throttle valve 26 to be closed completely as shown by a dotted line 26a. Branch pipe 30 forcedly leads air fuel mixture at a high speed into appropriate combustion chambers 5, in each of which powerful swirl is generated as indicated by an arrow W. Each swirl greatly accelerates the combustion speed under low load. Under a high load operation, as each of the secondary throttle valve 26 is kept nearly closed at a position 26b, knocking can be prevented.

摘要： PURPOSE:To reduce a driving loss and to decrease a time required for heating- up, by a method wherein separating circulating circuit are independently mounted to a cylinder head and a cylinder block, and when the temperature of cooling water is independently controlled except a period during heating-up and overheating operation, operation of a cooling fan is controlled to optimum according to each circulating mode. CONSTITUTION:Separating circulating circuits are respectively connected to a cylinder head 1 and water jackets 4 and 5 of a cylinder block 3, and control valves 13, 22, 25 and 28 are adapted to be controlled means of a control circuit 48 according to the detecting values of temperature sensors 49a, and 49b. When the detecting temperature of the temperature sensor 49b is below a first set temperature, the control valves 22 and 28 are fully opened, and the control valves 13, 19, and 25 are fully closed to form a heating-up mixing circulating circuit. In which case, a cooling fan 120 is brought to a stop. Except the aboves, only when the detecting temperature of the temperature sensor 49a is below temperature lower than the first set temperature, the cooling fan 120 is brought to a stop.

摘要： PURPOSE:To prevent impact noise created when a plunger changes the operating characteristics of a valve according to oil pressure by disposing an impact attenuating member at the position where the plunger's changing operation is terminated. CONSTITUTION:Changeover of the operating characteristics of a valve is attained by axially displacing a cam shaft 1 so that either cam 5 or 6 can rock a rocker arm 9. The displacement of the cam shaft 1 is controlled by a plunger 27 which is disposed inside a fixed member 21 and moved in response to the pressure oil supplied according to the action of solenoid valves 50 and 51. Both impact attenuating members 28 and 29 are positioned inside the fixed member 21 to prevent impact noise created from the plunger 27. When the plunger 27 goes to its terminal position, a catching member 40 is engaged into a catching hole 42 to prevent movement of the plunger 27. Said engagement is released under control of a cam 8 and the movement of the plunger 27 will not be made while the valve is lifted.

摘要： PURPOSE:To contrive to cool uniformly both banks by forming that a low temperature cooling water passed through a radiator is made to pass initially through the second water jacket of a rear side bank, then pass through the first water jacket of a front side bank. At a warming up phase, a port 15 of a temperature sensing velve 12 is closed, a part 13 is connected to a part 14, then a cooling water is circulated in the order of the water jacket 5, an introducing pipe 9 and the water jacket 4 by a water pump 7, thus, the warming up operation is performed rapidly. On the other hand, after finishing of the warming up operation, the port 14 of the temperature sensing valve 12 is closed, the port 13 is connected to the port 15, then the water passed through the water jacket 4 is made to return to the pump 7 through a radiator 18.
