摘要： The object of the present invention is to provide an exhaust gas purifying catalyst that can achieve high purification performance while suppressing H 2 S emissions.　The object is solved by an exhaust gas purifying catalyst in which the top layer of a catalyst coating layer comprises a ceria-zirconia composite oxide having a pyrochlore-type ordered array structure, in which the ceria-zirconia composite oxide contains at least one additional element selected from the group consisting of praseodymium, lanthanum, and yttrium at 0.5 to 5.0 mol% in relation to the total cation amount, and the molar ratio of (cerium + additional element) : (zirconium) is within the range from 43 : 57 to 48 : 52.

摘要： A catalyst for purifying exhaust gases includes a carrier substrate and a catalyst layer which is carried on the carrier substrate and contains a noble metal, a porous oxide and an addition oxide containing at least one selected from the group consisting of Ni, Bi, Sn, Fe, Co, Cu and Zn. Only a downstream section of the carrier substrate, which is located on a downstream side of an exhaust gas stream contains the addition oxide, whereas an upstream section of the carrier substrate does not contain the addition oxide. With this arrangement, in the upstream section of the carrier substrate, the noble metal and the addition oxide do not exist together so that the noble metal is not deteriorated with the addition oxide. As a result, in the upstream section, the purification performance as a three-way catalyst is favorably achieved, thereby restraining the emission of H 2 S while maintaining the three-way performance.

摘要： A catalyst for purifying exhaust gases includes a support substrate, and a catalytic loading layer. The support substrate has an exhaust-gas flow passage. The catalytic loading layer is formed on a surface of the exhaust-gas flow passage, and is composed of a porous oxide support and a catalytic ingredient. The catalytic loading layer includes an Rh area, and an oxidizing area. On the Rh area, rhodium is loaded as the catalytic ingredient. The oxidizing area is formed on an exhaust-gas flow downstream side with respect to the Rh area. On the oxidizing area, a catalytic ingredient exhibiting an oxidizing activity at least is loaded. 摘要： A catalyst for purifying exhaust gases comprises a support comprising at least an oxide comprising cerium and a catalytic ingredient loaded on the support, and exhibits a value of an oxygen sorbing amount with respect to a heat capacity, an oxygen sorbing amount/heat capacity value falling in a range of from 4 X 10 -3 to 8 X 10 -3 (g · J -1 · K). When the oxygen sorbing amount/heat capacity value is in the range, the catalyst is excellent in terms of the low-temperature purifying ability.
