摘要： An air-fuel ratio control apparatus for an internal combustion engine is provided. A controller is programmed to perform correction amount guard control allowing adjustment of a correction amount by setting a limit on the correction amount when an appearance frequency of a state where an output value from a downstream sensor is leaner than a predetermined value is equal to or higher than a predetermined value. When a state where the output value from the downstream sensor is leaner than the predetermined value lasts for a duration equal to or longer than a predetermined time (S182), an incorporation speed at which, during learning control, the correction amount for sub feedback control is incorporated into a learning value is set to a larger value that when the duration is shorter than the predetermined time (S184), and performance of the correction amount guard control is suppressed until the learning control is completed (S183).

摘要： An EG-ECU suspends fuel cutoff when the fuel cutoff is being carried out and the engine speed NE becomes lower than or equal to the resumption engine speed NErtn. The EG-ECU forcibly opens and closes an EGR valve when the fuel cutoff is being carried out, and performs abnormality diagnosis for an EGR device based on a change amount of pressure in an intake pipe caused by opening and closing the EGR valve. The EG-ECU suspends the diagnosis when the diagnosis is being carried out and the engine speed NE becomes lower than or equal to a forcible suspension engine speed NEoff. When the diagnosis is being performed, the EG-ECU sets the forcible suspension engine speed NEoff to a smaller value when the EGR valve is not in a forcibly opened state than when the EGR valve is in the forcibly opened state. Specifically, the EG-ECU sets the forcible suspension engine speed NEoff in such a manner that an allowance ΔNEallw of the forcible suspension engine speed NEoff with respect to the resumption engine speed NErtn has a smaller value when the EGR valve is not in the forcibly opened state than when the EGR valve is in the forcibly opened state.
