    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydrogen generator excellent in the availability of heat, and to provide a fuel cell system using the hydrogen generator. SOLUTION: The hydrogen generator 110 is equipped with: a couple of reactors 112, 114 which each has a catalyst carrying part 162 comprising a ceramic honeycomb structure carrying a catalyst and non-catalyst carrying parts 164, 166 provided at the both end parts of the catalyst carrying part 162 and each having a low thermal conductivity lower than that of the catalyst carrying part 162, and in each of which a hydrogen-containing gas is formed by a reforming reaction of gasoline or the like on the heated catalyst when the gasoline and a cathode offgas are supplied, the catalyst carrying part 162 is heated by the combustion reaction of an anode offgas or the like when the anode offgas and combustion air are supplied, and the reforming reaction and the combustion reaction can be switched; and a control part 170 for switching the raw material to be supplied to respective reactors to either of a reforming raw material and a heat generating raw material so that the reforming reaction and the combustion reaction are alternately performed in respective reactors 112, 114.     • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydrogen fuel-supplying system capable of supplying the fuel gas which is obtained by a reforming reaction and contains hydrogen to a fuel cell while corresponding to load change, and also to provide a fuel cell system which is provided with the above hydrogen fuel-supplying system and follows the output variation of a fuel cell as a whole. SOLUTION: In a reactor composing the hydrogen fuel-supplying system, a reforming process and a regeneration process are alternately performed. The reforming process comprises generating a hydrogen-containing fuel gas by reforming a supplied raw material, and the regeneration process comprises performing the catalytic combustion of a gas mixture prepared by mixing a supplied air for combustion and a gas for regeneration in a mixing space 84 to elevate the temperature lowered in the reforming process to a reformable level. The fuel gas generated in the reforming process is consumed in the fuel cell. When the reduction of hydrogen consumption is required during the operation of the reforming process accompanied by load degradation of the fuel cell, the supply amount of a reforming raw material is lowered, and a flow-keeping gas for keeping the flow of in-system gas of the reactor and fuel cell is introduced to quickly change to the state according to raw material prorogation. Between a catalyst-carrying part 80 in the reactor 18 and the inlet for the gas for regeneration 18G, there is provided an extinguishing part 84 for permitting passage of the gas for regeneration and the combustion air and preventing the transmission of flame.

SOLUTION: In the hydrogen fuel supplying system 12 of the fuel cell system 10, a hydrocarbon raw material and steam are supplied to a first reactor 18A, a reforming process is performed, and a hydrogen-containing fuel gas formed in the reforming process is supplied to a fuel cell 14 and consumed in the cell in a first state of a switching device 20. In the second reactor 18B, temperature raising/heat storing for performing the reforming process, that is to say, a regeneration process is performed. By switching to the second state of the switching device 20, the state is changed to such a state that the regeneration process is performed in the first reactor and the reforming process is performed in the second reactor. When the power generation amount of the fuel cell is increased, a valve V12 is opened and the anode offgas is introduced, as operation gas, to the reactor 18 in which the reforming process is performed.
