    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a conveying means suitable to convey soil from a shield machine to a carriage for conveying the soil inside a tunnel with a small diameter and a bending form being excavated. SOLUTION: For this conveying means, a U-shaped belt conveyer is used. The endless belt 3 of this U-shaped belt conveyer is arranged in upper side and lower side between rollers, and rotated and moved. And a first guide member 4 to guide as well as to support the upper feeding part 3a of the endless belt 3 from lower side consists of a fixed round rod form member. That is, since the first guide member 4 has no movable part such as a carrier roller, the thickness of the upper and the lower conveyer can be made thin. As a result, by using the first guide member 4 in the U-shaped belt conveyer with a relatively large upper and lower width, the upper and lower width of the U-shaped belt conveyer can be made narrower. Consequently, a U-shaped belt conveyer which can convey a conveyed material in the bending condition can be used in a narrow place such as a tunnel with a small diameter.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To place the pneumatically force-fed improved sediment stably and efficiently in the water. SOLUTION: The improved sediment 2 pneumatically force-fed by a transportation pipe 1 is guided into a cyclone 4 together with air 3, and the improved sediment 2 is separated from the air 3. When the boundary face of the separated improved sediment 2 rises to the upper limit position in the cyclone 4 from a placing pipe 5, an exhaust valve 22 in an exhaust pipe 19 is opened based on the signal from an upper limit sensor 31A, the air pressure in the cyclone 4 is increased, the improved sediment 2 is pushed into the placing pipe 5 by this air pressure, a check valve 30 at the tip of the placing pipe 5 is opened by this pushing pressure, and the improved sediment 2 is discharged to a placing object. When the boundary face of the improved sediment 2 in the placing pipe 5 is lowered to the lower limit position, the exhaust valve 22 is opened based on the signal from a lower limit sensor 31B. When these actions are repeated, the improved sediment 2 separated by the cyclone 4 is intermittently discharged from the placing pipe 5.
