摘要： An improved multifilament superconductor is fabricated by the method in which a tin rod or tin based alloy rod is clad with a copper based alloy tube, the thus obtained copper-clad rod is further clad with a niobium based alloy tube, and a copper material is applied as a stabilizer on an outer peripheral surface of the niobium based alloy tube to form a composite. This composite is then reduced and thermally treated at a temperature ranging from 640 to 770°C to thereby form an Nb 3 Sn superconductor composite with a filament tube therein. At least one of the copper based alloy tube and the niobium based alloy tube contains 0.1 - 5.0 at.% titanium, and in addition, the tin based alloy rod may contain 0.1 - 3.5 at % titanium.

摘要： PURPOSE:To obtain uniform deformation of a niobium system metal pipe by arranging a plurality of the niobium system metal pipes in copper or copper alloy matrix, and performing heat treatment after degressive work is applied to a compound unit in which a niobium system metal rod coated with a tin system metal is contained in this metal pipe. CONSTITUTION:A niobium system metal rod 5 of a tin plating layer 4 is received on the inside of a niobium system metal pipe 3, further to apply cold work by arranging a copper pipe on the outside of this niobium pipe 3, and a compound is manufactured. Next, a plurality of these compound wires are housed in the copper pipe to form a compound unit 1. Then, after wire drawing work is applied to this compound unit 1, heat treatment is applied. In this way, ununiform deformation of the niobium system metal pipe is prevented by decreasing a mean hardness difference between the niobium system metal pipe 3 and the inside thereof, and workability can be improved by preventing deterioration of residual resistance ratio and unstabilization of cooling.

摘要： PURPOSE:To prevent deterioration of characteristics due to influence of strains by forming a pair of composite wires including a junction accomplished mechanically, and applying thereto a heat treatment. CONSTITUTION:Cu matrix at both ends of a pair of composite wires 1, 1' in connection is removed by nitric acid to expose Nb pipes 4, 4', and both ends of these Nb pipes are cut off because it is likely that Sn in the inside has been removed. The exposed Nb pipes 4, 4' of the composite wires 1, 1' are laid outside of a rod 9 and arranged so as to be adjoining in the axial direction. A Cu sleeve 12 is put over the Cu parts at both ends of the composite wires 1, l', and the part with this sleeve is compressively shaped, and the Nb pipes are put in tight contact with each other. This is followed by the insulating process, and shaping is made into coil form, and a specified heat treatment is applied to form a junction. This prevents deterioration of characteristics due to influence of strains.

摘要： PURPOSE:To compose an extrafine multicore structure easily and to improve the superconductivity and the wiredrawing property by using an Nb sheet with numerous penetrating parts and an Al-Mg alloy sheet. CONSTITUTION:To an Nb rod, an Nb sheet with numerous penetrating parts and an Al-(0.5-10wt.%)Mg alloy are wound while laminating them. Then, after Nb and a Cu-Ni alloy are provided in order on the outer side of the winding layer, a surface reduction process is applied, and after the Cu-Ni alloy is dissolved and removed chemically, a heat treatment to produce Nb3Al is applied. In this case, the Nb rod functions as a reinforcement member. Although other materials having a large strength and an adequate processing adaptability can be used, the Nb is most preferable in respect of composing the Nb sheet. In such a way, the wiredrawing property of the Nb3Al superconductive material can be improved.

摘要： PURPOSE:To manufacture wire with good characteristics in the length direction easily by exposing part of the surface of a wire formed by filling a Cu alloy pipe with powder of ceramic superconductor, winding thereon a masking tape, and by sintering its periphery which is covered with insulating material. CONSTITUTION:Powders of Y2O3, BaCO3, and CuO are sintered to fabricate ceramic superconductor of Y-Ba-Cu-O type, and this is crushed into pulverized substance. This is put into a rubber tube, followed by hydrostatic pressurization to provide a molding. This is accommodated in a Cu-Ni alloy pipe, whose two ends are sealded to form an extrusion billet, which is subjected to two steps of hydrostatic pressure extrusion to form a rod, followed by swaging, and a wire thus obtained is subjected to a rolling process to accomplish a tape. Thereon a masking tape is gap-wound, and at the outside thereof a quartz yarn is sack-knit, which is immersed in an acid liquid to remove Cu-Ni alloy in the gap part. The wire thus obtained is heated in oxygen stream to manufacture ceramic superconductive wire.

摘要： PURPOSE:To enable a static hydraulic extrusion process in a stable condition along the whole length of a multicore structure superconductive wire by contracting the diameter of the front end member toward the front side of an extrusion billet while contracting the diameter of the rear end member also toward the front side of the extrusion billet. CONSTITUTION:After covering both ends of a tube 6 consisting of a Cu stabilized material with a front end member 7' and a rear end member 8', the Cu tube 6, the front end member 7', and the rear end member 8' are welded in an electron beam welding to form an extrusion billet 9'. The front end member 7' has a recess 7a' of a conical trapezoid form toward the tip of the billet at the rear side thereof, while the rear end member 8' has a projection 8a' with the shape same as the recess 7a', and the multiple wires 3 of the same lengths are installed inside the front and the rear end members and the Cu tube 6. The hardnesses of the front end member 7' and the rear end member 8' are set to make the mean hardness of the tube body part housing the multiple wires 3 almost at the middle of the both members, and a sudden rise of the extrusion pressure can be prevented. Consequently, a multicore structure of superconductive wire can be manufactured in a stable condition throughout the whole length.

摘要： PURPOSE:To prevent melting of a matrix and obtain a wire rod having high critical current density by setting heat treatment temperature in a prescribed range in case of manufacturing a superconductive wire of multicore structure by an internal diffusion method. CONSTITUTION:A number of Nb or Nb alloy wires whose outsides are coated with Cu or a Cu alloy are arranged inside a Cu composite tube, in whose inside a diffusion barrier is arranged, centering round an Sn or Sn alloy rod coated with Cu or a Cu alloy. Then, a surface reducing process is applied thereon to mold it into a first form followed by heat treatment in the temperature range of 650-730 deg.C for generating Nb3Sn. In the above temperature range, matrix melting is not caused so as to obtain a good characteristic, however, improvement of critical current density can not be expected under 650 deg.C, and on the other hand, the matrix is liable to be melted when 730 deg.C is exceeded, and in case of being melted, the critical current density drops remarkably.
