When no coincident telephone number information is found out, it is judged to be communication from lots of unspecified parties and a cut-off instruction signal (DCN) is sent to open the telephone line.

The control part of a reception-side facsimile equipment monitors the operation state of its recording part, outputs a signal WAIT as a signal which instructs the transmission of the next character codes, and then outputs a signal OK as a signal for allowing the transmission of character codes of the next page when the transmission of the next character codes becomes possible. Then, the main control part 91 of the transmission-side facsimile equipment receives the signal to output permission information and character codes in the memory 3 are sent out again.

For example, in using the red filter for a red ruled line, the red color is erased and only characters are recorded and in using a green filter conversely, the ruled line is emphasized more.

Then, this data is modulated and is transmitted to a facsimile device of the other party through the network control part 19.
