When the microcomputer 25 detects the state through a communication sections 27 and 29, the drive frequency of a compressor in a second outdoor machine 7 is increased gradually right away make up of a drop in the heating capacity sufficiently associated with the defrosting operation of the first room machine 1 and this action can make up for the lowering of the heating capacity caused by the defrosting of the first room machine 1. This allows the monitoring of other room machines mutually to check whether they are under the defrosting or not and when any machine is detected to be under the defrosting, the heating capacity of one machine is raised thereby enabling the keeping of the heating capacity constant in a room totally.

The microcomputers 13, 25 compare an Hz code of other indoor unit with an Hz code decided by itself before an operation transfer by the suitably decided frequency. They so corrects downward the decided code as to fall within the set code when the own code is a higher level by the preset code or more than the code of the other indoor unit and operate. Thus, since the indoor units do not interfere with one another, a room can be air conditioned with uniform temperature distribution.

Because the outdoor fan 5a is in the single operation mode, the outdoor fan 5a is driven at higher speed in the defrosting mode than the speed of simultaneous operation of two fans by the control of a speed switching device 20. The air supply is increased thereby, the heat exchange quantity is increased, and the higher heating capacity can be ensured even in the defrosting mode.

With this arrangement as above, the indoor heat exchanger 21 having a wide area is installed within a space just above the suction port 6 with the space being effectively utilized, resulting in that a height size of a casing 5 is lowered as compared with the case in which a prior art indoor heat exchanger of flat plate type having the same area is installed to be inclined and further it is possible to make a compact indoor device 1 while a high heat exchanging performance is attained.

    • PURPOSE:To effect the comfortable humidifying control of a room and prevent condensation by a method wherein the humidification is controlled by detecting a room humidity, room temperature, outside air temperature and the like. CONSTITUTION:Upon starting humidifying control, humidity control of much humidifying amount is effected for a predetermined period of time in spite of a room humidity detected by a humidity sensor 3, then, humidifying control of less humidifying amount is effected subsequently until a room temperature is approached to a desired set temperature and, thereafter, a humidifier 5 is controlled so that a room humidity becomes equal to a desired set humidity. When an outside air temperature detected by an outside air temperature sensor 6 is lower than a predetermined temperature, the humidifier 5 is controlled so that the room humidity is reduced to a value lower than a desired set humidity. Further, a relative body feeling humidity information, including slightly humidifying and more humidifying, is inputted by an operating unit 11 and the humidifier 5 is controlled based on the relative body feeling humidity information and the room humidity detected by the humidity sensor 3. According to this method, the humidity in the room can be controlled at the desired optimum humidity.
