摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a side weir for roll type continuous caster which can manufacture at a low cost and has sufficient wear resistance and slidability. SOLUTION: This side weir for roll type continuous caster is constituted of the weir body 21 and sliding members 23 disposed at the parts being in contact with the rolls and the sliding member 23 is formed of a fused silica material as the other material than that of the weir body 21. A nozzle for roll type continuous caster is constituted of the nozzle body and a sliding member disposed at the end part of the roll side, and the sliding member is formed of a BN material as the other material than that of the nozzle body. Then, this roll type continuous caster is provided with at least one side of the above side weir and the above nozzle.

摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To decrease the temp. difference between the molten metal at the wall side and the molten metal at the center side of a mold and to prevent the surface defect in a cast slab and the defect of internal segregation, etc., by enlarging circularly the diameter of a cylindrical wall in the lower end part of a nozzle dipped into the mold and opening the internal between the nozzle and the mold wall to a specific value. SOLUTION: The immersion nozzle 101 for continuous casting is constituted of a straight tube shape upper end part 1a, a bugle state intermediate part 1b connected with the upper end part 1a and a cylindrical lower end part 1c connected with the intermediate part 1b. The lower end part 1c is dipped into the molten metal 4 in the mold 3 to execute continuous casting. The size of the lower end part 1c is decided so that the shortest interval between the outer peripheral surface of the cylindrical wall at the lower end part 1c and the inner peripheral surface of the mold 3 becomes 10-50 mm. A truncated conical body-shaped flow guiding part 6 is arranged at the center part in the lower end part 1c, and the cross sectional area of a molten metal flow passage around the flow guiding part 6 is desirably 80-200% of the cross sectional area of an nozzle hole 2 at the upper end part 1a.

摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To replace a nozzle without interrupting casting while realizing high accuracy, strength and a high anti-spalling characteristic by providing a nozzle wherein a plate member and a nozzle member are formed separately and followed by firing. Then, they are cemented each other with an organic glue. The nozzle member's flow channel is flat in a cross section. SOLUTION: The plate member 12 and the nozzle member 11 are formed and firing-processed separately, wherein at least one end of cross section of the nozzle member's flow channel for molten steel is flat. The junction of both the members 11, 12 is cemented with an organic glue layer 16. The plate member 12 is composed of alumina-carbon or zirconia-carbon material, which has high strength and a good sliding characteristic. The nozzle member 11 is composed of alumina-graphite or zirconia-graphite material, which has a high anti- spalling characteristic. At the inner radius around the junction of the plate member 12 and the nozzle member 11, a ring 28 made of firebrick is fixed with mortar. At the outer radius of the plate member 12 and the nozzle member 11, an iron shell 19 is fixed with mortar to form an integrated soak nozzle.

摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the spalling resistance of a nozzle by shifting the taper end position on the longer side of a flat nozzle from the taper end position on the shorter side to mitigate the thermal stress which is likely to occur concentratedly at the taper end of the nozzle. SOLUTION: On the longer side of a flat nozzle for continuous casting, a tapered part 13 extending in the horizontal direction is formed with a gradual angle on a lower side of a cylindrical part of an upper nozzle part 11, and the tapered part is further extended in the horizontal direction at an end 14 of the tapered part 13. A bottom part 15 of the nozzle is rectangular in section. On the shorter side, the position of the upper nozzle part 11 is same as that on the longer side, but the end part 17 of a tapered part 16 is at the position shifted upward or downward by about >=10mm from the end 14 on the longer side. The width of the tapered part 16 is gradually narrowed so that the nozzle 10 is flat, and a part from the end part 17 of the tapered part 16 to the forward end is constant in width and leads to the bottom part 15 of the nozzle. The generated stress is dispersed into two parts to reduce damages on the nozzle 10.
