摘要： PURPOSE:To facilitate the machinability in the mica ceramics and to provide it with high strength by adding barium fluoride and calcium fluoride to a blend of fluor-phlogopite and alumina, compacting the mixture and thereafter executing burning. CONSTITUTION:The mica ceramics is obtd. by subjecting a mixture of which a blend, 100 pts.wt., constituted of 30 to 50wt.% fluor-phlogopite and alumina is incorporated with 2 to 5 pts.wt. barium fluoride and 2 to 5 pts.wt. calcium fluoride to compacting and burning. In the case where the content of the above fluor-phlogopite is less than 30wt.%, its machinability is deteriorated, and where more than 50wt.%, its bending strength is deteriorated. Furthermore, as for the content of the above barium fluoride and calcium fluoride, where either or both is less than 2wt.%, its machinability is deteriorated, and where either or both is more than 5 pts.wt., its water absorption is increased and its bending strength is deteriorated as well.

摘要： PURPOSE:To obtain a chalking-resistant ultraviolet-absorbing coating composition capable of forming a coating film excellent in prevention of deterioration due to ultraviolet rays and chalking resistance by mixing mica containing a specified amount of a specified element as a UV absorber in the coating material. CONSTITUTION:A UV absorber composed of one or more mica selected from a synthetic powdery mica, natural powdery phlogopite and natural biotite, containing one or more of tellurium, bismush, lead, iron, cerium, molybdenum, niobium, tungsten, antimony, tin, vanadium, manganase, nickel, cobalt, zinc and titanium, preferably one or more of iron, cerium, titanium, vanadium and manganese in an amount of 1-30wt.% on oxide base. This UV absorber is produced, e.g. by blending silica fluoride, alumina, silica and magnesia with oxides of the above-mentioned elements and smelting them with heating in an electric oven. The resultant UV absorber is blended, mixed and dispersed preferably in an amount of 0.1-100 pts.wt. based on 100 pts.wt. resin solid matter in a coating material, thus obtaining the objective coating composition.

In the formula, X is an interlayer ion selected from the group consisting of Na, Li, K, etc.; Y is an ion at an octahedral position selected from the group consisting of Mg, Li, Ni, etc.; and Z is an ion at a tetrahedral position selected from the group consisting of Al, Si, Zn, etc.
