    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polymer EL element in which a uniform emission medium layer is formed, even if some irregularities exist on a transparent conductive layer, and to provide its manufacturing method.
      SOLUTION: This polymer electroluminescent element has at least a transparent conductive layer, the polymer emission medium layer comprising a single or a plurality of layers and a counter electrode on a translucent substrate. The transparent conductive layer has irregularities of 2μm or larger on its surface, and at least one of the layers constituting the polymer emission medium layer is laminated on the transparent conductive layer and the irregularities. If the polymer emission medium layer is formed by slit coat method, an application solution for the polymer EL element can be used efficiently, and a high-quality polymer EL element, without uneven light emission or short circuit of the electrode by a subsequent process, can be manufactured with a large area and at low cost.
