As a result, data of the operator guidance concerning correction from text editer 44 is stored in the operator guidance area of display buffer 43, and further, message ''correction:How far ?'' is displayed on operator guidance display area 31 of display unit 15 as the output. A tag is added to the character pattern of document buffer 46 by the function command code from text editer 44.

Then an editing inhibited part deciding part 5 decides whether the fed character train and the character train to be fed newly correspond to the set editing inhibited part. Based on the result of this decision, the device 1 edits documents for the areas excepting for the editing inhibited part.

摘要： PURPOSE:To obtain a KANJI (Chinese character) conversion output easily and accurately and to draw up a Japanese document by converting characters in KANA (Japanese syllabary) into KANA character codes and performing retrieval in a word dictionary. CONSTITUTION:A long sound retrieval control part 2 performs retrieval to know whether a KANA character string stored in a storage part 1 contains a KANA character in vague notation, e.g. long sound characters or not. This conversion part 4 is equipped with a KANA conversion table 5 and for KANA characters in vague notation, KANA characters considered to be proper are select for KANA code conversion.

Consequently, the flag is searched for through a directory part 5 to fine the flag 3b for addition of new words and consequently, it is known that the word added right before a word given the flag 3b is registered in a new word dictionary part 4. Thus, the new word dictionary part 4 is searched through a new word directory part 6 to read added new words to a device body 1 and they are used to drawn up a document.

Also, from a word fetch device 14, reading of a word data and length of a character-string of a key are stored as variable length. furthermore, by a new word adding and registering device 10 for inputting a new word data, a new word adding flag of 1 bit is provided on 1 word of its data and is stored. In this way, a retrieving time of a dictionary is shortened, and also a work for adding a new word later on is executed in a short time.
