摘要： PURPOSE:To prevent the occurrence of water-level heat ratchet phenomena by making the vertical thermal inclination of a reactor vessel gentler. CONSTITUTION:A core 1, an upper mechanism 3 of a core and an intermediate heat exchanger 4 are installed in a reactor vessel 2, the inside of which is horizontally divided with partition plates 10. An electromagnetic pump 7 is installed on the partition plates 10, barriers 9 stand up on the peripheral edge of them and an annular opening is made between the barriers 9 and the peripheral wall of the reactor vessel 2. By operating the electromagnetic pump 7 in the start-up of the reactor, the pressure outside the barriers 9 is heightened to make the level of liquid metal outside the barriers 9 higher than the liquid level inside them. When the temperature of the liquid metal comes to rise, the level of the liquid metal outside the barriers 9 is gradually lowered by gradually decreasing the discharging pressure of the electromagnetic pump 7.

The thermal extending mechanism 10 has a spring between the driving shafts 11, the spring is enclosed by a bellows, and the bellows is enclosed by a double cylindrical thermosensitive part.

摘要： PURPOSE:To enable a reactor vessel to be compact and an inner configuration to be simplified in a tank-type high-speed reactor. CONSTITUTION:A cooling unit 29 is constituted by integrating an intermediate heat exchanger and a circulation pump which are provided around a reactor core 23 in a reactor vessel 21 on a same axis. The reactor vessel 21 is divided into an upper plenum 25 and a lower plenum 26 by a reactor core periphery portion of a reactor supporting structure 24 which supports the reactor core 23. A discharge port 28b of the cycling pump of the cooling unit 29 is opened at a lower portion of the reactor core supporting structure 24, thus enabling a cooling material 35 of the lower plenum to be set to a high pressure.

摘要： PURPOSE:To eliminate occurrence of positive reactivity insertion in a core even with void inflow in the core and keep the safety of the reactor by separating the core periphery having negative sodium coolant void coefficient and the core center having positive one. CONSTITUTION:In order to let the coolant flow in fuel assemblies 3, coolant inlets 8 are provided in connection pipe 4 and an opening 9 is provided on an entrance nozzle 5. The coolant flows through the inlets 8 and openings 9 on the entrance nozzles 5 and in the fuel assemblies 3. The position of the coolant inlet 8a for the core periphery is set higher than the coolant inlet 8b in the core center. Therefore, if void is included in the coolant, the void is accumulated in the upper space in a high pressure plenum 7 and the gradual increase of the void results in its flowing out of the coolant inlets 8 provided on the side wall of the connection pipe 7. In this situation, the fuel assemblies 3 the void flows in are in the core periphery having negative sodium void coefficient and so no positive reactivity insertion is realized.
