摘要： PURPOSE: To carry out a sharply curved excavation work, by injecting a soil- improving agent from a machine body to the periphery when it has reached the front position of the directional changing point, and forming a cavity in the solidified ground and changing the direction in the cavity to start it again. CONSTITUTION: When a shield machine has reached the front point of a specified position to be bent, a plurality of rods for improving soil are radially projected from the shield machine to inject a soil-improving material and stabilize the ground within a specified range. Then a cavity 14 is formed in the improved soil and a soil-improved body 13 is constructed. Further, the shield machine which has used so far, is disassembled in this cavity 14 and the direction is charged to assemble again. It is started again by making use of the reaction on a reaction receiver or the like installed in the cavity. In this way, a sharply curved (especially at right angled) tunnel can be constructed.
