    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To smoothly deliver a wire body into water without applying excessive tension to it by pressing gas into a storage section or a delivery path of the wire body, and delivering the wire body while keeping the gas pressure of the storage section at the liquid pressure or above of the water in which the wire body is delivered. SOLUTION: One end of a wire body F is delivered to the outside from a delivery pipe section 11, and a moving body is sunk in the sea while air is fed into the delivery pipe section 11 via a feed pipe section 12A by a compressor 3. The wire body F is delivered as the moving body is moved, and air is fed into the delivery pipe section 11 via the feed pipe section 12A by the compressor 3 at this time. The fed air flows in the delivering direction of the wire body F and is discharged into the sea from the tip of the feed pipe section 12A, and a storage section S and the delivery pipe section 11 are kept at the state filled with gas in them. The pressure of the storage section S is kept higher than the water pressure at the sea bottom where the wire body F is delivered.

    • PURPOSE:To branch the optical fiber cable without connecting optical fibers by integrating the optical fiber units corresponding to a required length and number of pieces including branch lines and simultaneously taking out the optical fiber units for the branch optical lines while laying the main optical line. CONSTITUTION:The optical fiber cable constituted by integrally housing the optical fiber units 5 of the length at which the main optical line can be formed from a start point to an end point and the optical fiber units 3, 4 of the length at which the branch optical lines can be formed from the start point via a branch point to the end point is used. The optical fiber cable is integrally led in from the start point up to the branch point. The leading in of the optical fiber cable is continued while the optical fiber cable is separated to the optical fiber units 5 for the main optical line and the optical fiber units 3, 4 for the branch optical lines at the branch point. The need for operations, such as connection of optical fibers, is eliminated at the branch point. The man-hours for operations are decreased and the attenuation of light signals occurring in the connection is eliminated.
