    • The present invention relates to a system and method of processing image data to generate simulated lens coefficients. A method (1200) according to the present invention comprises dividing image data into a plurality of input images in separate color planes (1210). The method (800) further comprises identifying a radial vector in each of the color planes, such that the radial vector is in a corresponding location in each color plane (1220). Further, in each color plane located along the radial vector, a block of pixels is identified (1230). The pixel values in the block of pixels in each color plane are correlated for generating a shift vector (1240), from which a shift vector matrix is produced (1250). Finally, the method generates lens coefficients from the shift vector matrix, such that the lens coefficients define the chromatic aberration in the input image (1260).

This method allows precise gamut mapping while allowing also for simple geometrical operations using convex gamuts.
