    • The present invention provides An RFID-based sensing system (T) comprising a piezoelectric arrangement (2) adapted to be mounted and/or mounted at least partially on a structure (1), an RFID transponder (3) connected to the piezoelectric arrangement, and an antenna (5) being connected to the RFID transponder and/or being integrated into the RFID transponder, and can also comprise an energy storage bank connected to RFID transponder, wherein the piezoelectric arrangement (2) and/or the RFID transponder (3) is/are adapted to convert kinetic energy provided by said structure into electrical energy used and/or usable for powering the RFID transponder (3) and to generate sensing information with respect to a state of said structure, wherein the energy storage bank can accumulate electrical energy generated by mechanical stresses or vibrations of the said structure to provide continuous or low- duty- eye led power to the system. A reader (R) sends an inquire to the RFID transponder and receives the said sensing information with respect to a state of the structure. The antenna is adapted to transmit said sensing information and/or information derived therefrom to the RFID reader (R) and/or to receive a RF signal from said reader.
