摘要： There is disclosed a liquid pharmaceutical composition comprising a therapeutic agent which comprises: one or more thyroid hormone or hormones; from about 40 % to about 96 % ethanol by volume; a pH adjusting agent so that the measured pH of the composition is from about 9 to about 12; and from about 4 % to about 50 % water by volume; which has utility in the treatment of disorders associated with an impairment of the thyroid hormone function in animals including human beings. The liquid composition may be delivered by a metered dosage delivery system such as an aerosol or pump-action spray.

摘要： An adhesive-free topical pharmaceutical formulation comprising an absorbent material wherein the absorbent material is impregnated with a pharmaceutical composition comprising a solution of a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug in a C2-4 alcohol. Suitably the non-steroidal antiinflammatory drug comprises ibuprofen, S(+)-ibuprofen, flurbiprofen, S(+)-flurbiprofen, R(-)-flurbiprofen, ketoprofen, S(+)-ketoprofen, piroxicam, or naproxen, including pharmaceutically acceptable salts of each and comprises 0.1-25 % by wight of the pharmaceutical composition. The C2-4 alcohol comprises 20-95 % by weight of the pharmaceutical composition. The pharmaceutical composition further comprises 0.01-90 % by weight of a co-solvent selected from propylene glycol, benzyl alcohol, isopropyl palmitate, isopropyl myristate, or polyvinylpyrrolidone. The formulation is preferably in the form of a wipe or a wrap-around. The formulations are useful for the local treatment of pain and inflammation.

Preferably the shaft may comprise a resilient, plastically deformable material capable of being deformed by finger pressure to aid dispensing of fluid from the absorbent head.

The indicator system may react directly with the ammonia, for example, the indicator system may contain transition metal ions which form coloured complexes with ammonia or it may comprise an acid base indicator. Alternatively, the capturing of the ammonia and the contacting it with the indicator system may be two separate stages. The indicator system in this case may be based on the pyridine-pyrazolone or indophenol reactions.
