摘要： Apparatus, systems and methods for providing fixation to an interior body region of a patient are provided. The apparatus includes an expandable cage which is inserted into a body region, such as cancellous bone of a vertebra, in a first geometry, and transitioned to a second geometry. Delivery devices and other tools are included including a material delivery device used to inject an agent into a body region without requiring or creating a void in that region. Methods are also provided for providing fixation to an internal body region.

摘要： An apparatus and method for removing tissue and/or other material from a patient includes a shaft and a tissue disrupting mechanism operatively coupled to the shaft. The shaft may be coupled to a handpiece or a robotic or remote-controlled system. The mechanism may comprise a rotatable or other movable element having a distal portion with fixed or adjustable radial dimensions. The mechanism may have one or more tissue cutting, chopping, grinding, emulsifying or disrupting features with an adjustable outer diameter for removing substantial tissues. The apparatus may be configured to urge or draw substantial material into the device upon rotation or other movement of the shaft and/or tissue, and may optionally be coupled to sources of suction or aspiration. A radiofrequency or other energy source is optionally included for tissue ablation or other tissue remodeling effects, and/or to enhance coagulation.

摘要： A dynamic rod implantable into a patient and connectable between two vertebral anchors in adjacent vertebral bodies is provided. The dynamic rod fixes the adjacent vertebral bodies together in a dynamic fashion providing immediate postoperative stability and support of the spine. The dynamic rod comprises a first rod portion having a first engaging portion and a second rod portion having a second engaging portion. The first and second rod portions are connected to each other at the first and second engaging portions. The dynamic rod further includes at least one bias element configured to provide a bias force in response to deflection or translation of the first rod portion relative to the second rod portion. The dynamic rod permits relative movement of the first and second rod portions allowing the rod to carry some of the natural flexion and extension moments that the spine is subjected to.

摘要： Embodiments of the present invention are suitable for treating a vascular occlusion. In one embodiment, a tissue removal apparatus includes a catheter having a lumen; a rotatable shaft disposed in the lumen of the catheter; a tissue removal portion connected to the rotatable shaft; and an expandable element circumferentially disposed at a distal end of the catheter, wherein upon expansion, at least a portion of the expandable element extends past the distal end of the catheter. In another embodiment, the rotatable shaft may include an auger portion to facilitate withdrawal of the removed tissue. In yet another embodiment, the tissue removal portion may include a plurality of expandable cutting members.
