    • The embodiments herein relates to a method in an eNB (401) for handling MBSFN area configuration information. The eNB (401) receives (501, 801), from a MME (410), a MBMS session start request. Based on the received request, the eNB (401) computes a first time for a start of the MBMS session. The first time is a first MCC, update time. The eNB periodically sends (504, 804), from the first time, the configuration information to a user equipment (405). The eNB (401) stops (507, 807) the sending of the configuration information to the user equipment (405) when the MBMS session is a last MBMS session. The eNB (401) sends (508, 808) updated configuration information to the user equipment (405) when the MBMS session is not the last MBMS session. The updated configuration information is updated MBSFN area configuration information.

    • The present invention relates to methods and arrangements for handling UE capability information a mobile telecommunications network wherein an eNodeB (100) receives (60) information regarding the UE capability information from the UE (120) and stores (70) the information. The eNodeB (100) sends (80) the UE capability information to the EPC, i.e. the MME (130). The MME (130) receives and stores (90) the UE capability information. When the UE (120) transits from idle to active state, does an initial attach or when a part of the UE capabilities have changed, it sends (10) a message Ma to the eNodeB (100) regarding the update. The eNodeB (100) receives the message and sends (20) it to the MME (130). The MME (130) sends (30) a response associated with the previously stored UE capability information to the eNodeB (100). The eNodeB (100) decides (40) if the UE capabilities stored in the MME (130) is up-to-date based on the message sent from the UE (120) and the received response from the MME (130). If the UE (120) holds updated UE capabilities the eNodeB (100) could request (50) updated UE capability information from the UE (120).

    • A method in a first network node for handover preparation of a user equipment of a first category in a wireless communications network. The handover preparation is performed between a first cell served by the first network node and a second cell served by a second network node comprised in the wireless communications network. The first network node sends (301) to the second network node a message comprising information indicating a request for preparation of a handover of the user equipment. The request is specific for user equipment of the first category. The first network node receives (302) from the second network node a message indicating failure to prepare the handover. The first network node interprets (303) the message indicating failure to prepare the handover as an indication that the second network node does not support any user equipment of the first category.

    • An authentication mechanism renders a communications network impervious to unauthorized requests for interaction termination or cessation. In a release authentication mode of operation, the authentication mechanism protects against an unauthorized connection release message directed to a mobile node ( 30 ) of the network, e.g., a mobile station such as a user equipment unit, thereby thwarting an attempt to request an unauthorized connection release procedure concerning a connection involving the mobile node. In a detach authentication mode of operation, the authentication mechanism protects against an unauthorized detach message deceptively transmitted on behalf of a mobile node, thereby thwarting an attempt to request an unauthorized detach procedure for the mobile node. In its modes of operation, the authentication mechanism involves a first node (N i ) of the communications network at which authentication key is provided. The first node of the network uses the authentication key to derive an authentication indicia related to the authentication key. The first node (N i ) provides the authentication indicia to a second node (N r ) of the network. Subsequently, when an interaction termination operation is to occur (e.g., connection release or detach), the first node includes the authentication key in an interaction termination message transmitted over an air interface between the first node and the second node. As a condition for performing an interaction termination operation, the second node (N r ) confirms that the authentication key (which was included in the interaction termination message) is, in fact, related to the authentication indicia.
