摘要： Methods and agent for correlating event notifications are provided wherein the agent comprises an interface receiving an event notification, a Peer Agent Notification Category List (PANCL) storing peer agent notification categories of event notifications that other agents are interested in receiving from the agent, and a notifications processing engine that determines if the event notification matches the peer agent notification categories of the PANCL. Upon positive determination the first event notification is sent at least to a second agent associated with the matched peer agent notification category of the PANCL. In another aspect, the agent comprises a manager notifications log storing identities of event notifications sent from the agent to the manager and a notifications processing engine that determines if a received peer agent event notification matches any event notifications of the log. Upon positive determination, the engine correlates the peer agent event notification with the event notification of the log.

An agent constructs a network notification in response to receiving an event notification. If the received event notification is associated with a prior notification already received and stored by the agent, a correlation attribute is added to the constructed network notification.
