    • Techniques for decoding repeated messages sent from a transmitter are improved with information obtained from the decoding of the first transmission and by augmenting Chase combining techniques with a voting-based combining method. In an example method, first encoded bits corresponding to a first instance of the repeated message and demodulated to obtain first soft bits, which are decoded to obtain first decoded bits. Second encoded bits corresponding to a second instance of the repeated message are demodulated to obtain second soft bits. The first decoded bits are re-encoded to obtain re-encoded bits. Sign values for modified soft bits are determined from sign values for the first soft bits, the sign values for the second soft bits, and the sign values for the re-encoded bits. The modified soft bits are combined with the first soft bits and decoded.

    • A method is disclosed of a wireless communication device adapted to communicate using a radio access transceiver alternatingly in accordance with a first radio access technology and in accordance with a second radio access technology.     • A method in a mobile station for calculating the signal strength of a signal from a first base station is provided. The mobile station receives (301) a plurality of signal samples of an incoming signal. The incoming signal comprises a signal from the first base station and at least one signal from respective at least one second base station. The mobile station also determines (305) a ratio between the total signal strength received from the first base station and interfering signals and noise from the at least one second base station. The ratio is determined based on a standard deviation for the received signal samples. The interfering signals and noise are calculating (306) from the at least one second base station based on a calculated sum of signal strengths for the received signal samples and the determined ratio. The mobile station is further calculating (307) the signal strength of the signal from the first base station based on the calculated interfering signals and noise from the at least one second base station and the sum of signal strengths for the received signal samples.

    • A method of detecting an obtruding signal in a radio receiver, a receiver and a computer program are disclosed. The receiver has a mixer arranged to mix a received signal to an analog baseband signal at or close to zero-frequency, a filter arranged to low-pass filter said analog baseband signal, and an analog-to-digital converter arranged to sample said filtered analog baseband signal at a sample frequency such that a digital baseband signal is formed. The method comprised receiving a radio frequency signal, mixing the radio frequency signal to the analog baseband signal at or close to zero-frequency, low-pass filtering said analog baseband signal, and analog-to-digital converting said filtered analog baseband signal at an over sample frequency such that a digital baseband signal is formed. The method further comprises frequency translating the digital baseband signal around a Nyquist frequency being based on a nominal sample frequency, the nominal sample frequency being a fraction of the oversampling frequency according to the oversampling rate, to form a translated digital baseband signal such that signal content of the digital baseband signal around zero frequency will be translated to around the nominal sample frequency and vice versa in the translated digital baseband signal, determining a first signal level at zero frequency of the digital baseband signal and a second signal level at zero frequency of the translated digital baseband signal, detecting an obtruding signal based on a relation between the first and second signal levels, and outputting an obtruding signal state signal.
