    • Methods of transmitting and receiving information in a telecommunications network are described, as well as a telecommunication network and apparatus for a telecommunication network. The method of transmitting comprises identifying (Sl) a message for transmission, the message selected from a plurality of predetermined messages; selecting (S2) a code combination from a set of codes combinations, each code combination corresponding to a predetermined message; encoding (S3) data with the selected code combination; and transmitting (S4) the encoded data. The method of receiving comprises receiving (S5) the signal comprising data encoded for transmission with the selected code combination; decoding (S6) the signal to retrieve unencoded data, the decoding comprising determining with which code combination selected from the set of code combinations the data is encoded, and decoding the data; and selecting (S7) the message for transmission from the plurality of predetermined messages, wherein the message is selected based on the code combination with which the data was encoded.

    • Embodiments of the invention relates to a method in a controller node for distributing code text of a joint spatial coding in a communications network. The communications network comprises at least two communication nodes each comprising at least one transmit antenna. The method comprises to joint spatial code (12, S11) a symbol resulting in at least a first code text and a second code text. Then, the method comprises to group (T4, S12) the transmit antennas in the communications network into at least a first transmit antenna group and a second transmit antenna group based on the location of coverage area of the transmit antennas. Finally, the method comprises to distribute (T6) the first code text to the first transmit antenna group and the second code text to the second transmit antenna group. The invention is particularly useful for transmission in Multimedia Broadcast Single Frequency Network (MBSFN) comprising of communication nodes equipped with unequal number of transmit antennas. Embodiments also relates to a controller node, a second communication node, a user equipment and methods therein.

    • According to the invention a mobile station (10) obtains the time delays of transmissions (T0, T1, T2) from a set of base stations in reaching the mobile station, determines a difference (t1, t2 ) between a group of the time delays and a reference time delay and transmits the time delay differences to base stations (14, 16) in the set having transmissions with time delays in the group via at least one link that is specific to the mobile station. A base station (14) receives the difference (t1) between its own transmission time delay and the reference time delay, compares the difference with a time range and corrects the timing of its transmissions if the difference is outside of the time range.

    • The present invention discloses a method, an apparatus and a system for calibrating antenna, wherein channel transfer functions are obtained for subcarriers on at least one antenna to be calibrated and on a reference antenna, and the obtained channel transfer function of a first subcarrier is filtered by multiplying a symmetry filter with channel transfer functions of said first carrier's neighboring subcarriers, and the filtered channel transfer function is normalized; and a signal carried by the first subcarrier on the antenna to be calibrated is multiplied with the ratio of the filtered and normalized channel transfer function of the first subcarrier on said reference antenna to the filtered and normalized channel transfer function of said first subcarrier to get compensated. This enables to perform joint compensation on a subcarrier basis and thus reduce computation complexity.
