    • A Machine -to-Machine (M2M) Services Enablement Solution offering M2M services enablement to an M2M entity (155) that supports a 3GPP or a non-3GPP access for connection and service by a 3GPP Evolved Packet Core ( EPC) (78). The solution enables an Access Network (AN) (84) to offer a transport connection for the M2M entity over its 3GPP EPC to M2M entity's per-choke M2M Service Provider (SP) (82, 88). The M2M entity's first attach to the AN is forced to be directed to the Access Point Name (APN) of an AN default M2M Network Services Capabilities (N- SC) application (192). The AN default M2M N-SC application facilitates M2M Service Layer (SL initial registration of the M2M entity with its pet-choke M2M SP. M2M entity's future Regular Attach to the SP network may be directed to the APN of an AN- based regular M2M N-SC application that serves the M2M SP.

    • A method and Policy Decision Function node are provided for maintaining alive a multimedia session for a mobile station following a release of a network attachment resulting from a handoff from a first Packet Data Node to a second Packet Data Node. If both Packet Data Nodes are comprised into a same MultiMedia Domain, the Policy Decision Function informs an Application Function that the multimedia session shall be maintained. Otherwise, a first Policy Decision Function further fetches a context of the multimedia session. Further, the first Policy Decision Function transfers the context to the first Packet Data Node, which in turn sends the context to the second Packet Data Node. Subsequent to reestablishment of the network attachment, a second Policy Decision Function transfers the context from the second Packet Data Node to a second Application Function in a second MultiMedia Domain.
