摘要： The transmission of a warning message to a mobile terminal in a mobile communication network is triggered by an emergency event. The mobile terminal is first made aware of the need to receive a warning message by reception of an emergency event notification. The warning message is divided into a plurality of message segments. Each segment is transmitted in a separate paging message over a paging channel to mobile terminals in an idle mode. Information is added to each message segment to enable the mobile terminal to discriminate between segments belonging to different warning messages.

摘要： According to an aspect, a network node operating in a first RAN according to a first RAT is the target of an inter-RAT (IRAT) handover. The network node receives a handover request for a user equipment from a cell in a second RAN operating according to a second RAT. After handover of the user equipment to a cell in the first RAN is completed, the network node configures the user equipment to measure one or more frequencies corresponding to the second RAN. Based on measurements reported by the user equipment for the one or more frequencies, the network node identifies one or more detected cells exceeding a measurement threshold, and sends a handover report towards the second RAN. The handover report includes, for at least one detected cell exceeding the measurement threshold, a physical cell identifier for the detected cell and a frequency identifier for the detected cell.

This means that a user will be alerted about public warning messages even in a case where the user has a mobile terminal that is in an active voice or data call or during establishment of a voice or data call. 摘要： System information transmitted from a wireless network is enhanced to contain additional information that indicates the relative priority between neighboring cells or frequencies in multiple Radio-Access Technologies, such as GERAN, UTRAN and E- UTRAN. In an example method implemented in a mobile station, a system information message of a first type transmitted by a base station is read. The mobile station determine whether one or more RAT priority bits are present in the system information message, wherein the presence or absence of the one or more RAT priority bits indicates whether additional ones of a plurality of available system information messages of the first type must be read before inter-RAT cell reselection may begin. If RAT priority bits are present, the mobile station selectively initiates inter-RAT cell reselection based on the one or more RAT priority bits.
