摘要： A tape cartridge turably holding within a housing a reel with tape wound thereon, the reel including a hub having a disk with teeth formed around its periphery for engagement with a recorder drive shaft, the hub underside having throughholes for engagement with a breake release plate, the hub having teeth to engage a brake lock, the brake release plate having legs adapted to fit in said throughholes, the brake lock having brake teeth in mesh with the teeth of the hub, and further including a spring member between the brake lock and an upper housing casing to urge the brake lock in braking position. A short toe on the outer end of the brake release plate legs prevents the legs from coming off, out of engagement with, a corresponding hub hole. A reinforcing structure is provided between the center of a main plate and the legs of the brake release plate.

摘要： A tape cartridge having an identification hole for the prevention of accidental removal of recorded information or for no erasing formed in a housing of the cartridge and an additional identification hole formed in the vicinity of the first hole for a different purpose, both of the holes being adapted to engage with a no-erasing member which opens or closes the same. The no-erasing member when incorporated in the cartridge is able to open or close the no-erasing identification hole depending on the position of the member itself while normally closing the different-purpose identification hole and, when not incorporated in the cartridge, it allows the different-purpose identification hole to remain open whereby the tape cartridge is identified to be a different one. The two identification holes may be united into one. The different-purpose identification hole may be a hole intended for the identification of a cleaning cartridge.

摘要： A single-reel tape cartridge has a hub on which a length of tape is wound. A brake mechanism contained in the hub is movable up and down to apply and release the brake on the reel. The brake mechanism and a brake lock release member disposed between it and the hub remain in sliding engagement after releasing the brake, and the resulting friction hampers smooth turning of the hub. After releasing the brake lock, the center of the tape reel can be off the center of a rotating recorder shaft.
The bottom wall of the hub is adapted for engagement with the brake release plate which is mounted in the hub. The brake lock rests on the brake release plate and is formed with a dent with a spherical end. The brake release plate is formed with a corresponding dent with a spherical end on its upper surface. A highly slippery sheet member is interposed between the contacting parts of the brake lock and the brake release plate.

In addition, upper surface portion 171 and lower surface portion 172 are provided which are adapted to abut with and slide over internal surfaces of upper and lower cases 3, 31.
