摘要： PURPOSE:To increase the degree of accuracy of density measurement by freezing the ground through refrigerant, digging the frozen part out of the ground to obtain the volume by a liquid container and, at the same time, defrosting and drying the frozen part to be dug out to obtain the weight, and calculating the density from both volume and weight thereof. CONSTITUTION:A freezing pipe 6 is placed into the fill-up ground 1, and refrigerant such as liquid nitrogen and the like is supplied to freeze the ground 1. After that, a frozen part is dug out of the ground, and it is contained into a liquid container to obtain the volume thereof. Furthermore, the frozen part 7 to be dug out is defrosted and dried to obtain the weight thereof. The density is calculated from the obtained volume and weight. According to the constitution, the density of the ground can be measured with high degree of accuracy.

Consequently, the Young's modulus in the horizontal direction can be measured without giving a disturbance to the foundation of the non-viscous ground foundation.

After a refrigerant is circulated by the freezing pipe 3 so as to freeze a ground 1, a core tube 5 for excavating frozen soil is inserted through the guide pipe 4, so as to perform core extraction sampling. These processes can be sufficiently done by a small boring machine, without the need for a large stage construction, and the quantity of mud water can be reduced, whereby radical cost-down can be achieved.

The fluid pressure of the testing device 7 is obtained as constrained pressure in the horizontal direction of the in-situ ground 1 in case the in-situ freezing ground 3 is completely melted.

摘要： PURPOSE:To make possible the drawing of a soil quality sample in a shallow layer only by as much as needed from the region where the sample is not disturbed and to reduce the size of a machine for boring by supplying a refrigerant through an inside freezing pipe which is insulated of heat up to the upper limit of the sample drawing depth on the outside periphery so that the outside peripheral ground of an outside freezing pipe is frozen to the required depth. The refriger ant such as liquid nitrogen or mixture composed of ethanol and dry ice is supplied through the inside pipe 3 to freeze the outside peripheral ground of the outside pipe down to the required thickness. A hole 5 arriving at the tope end position of the frozen soil (a) is then bored toward the soil (a) in parallel approximately with the pipe 2 and a double-cored bue 11 is inserted through the hole 5 to core and cut the coil (a) down to the non-frozen part, by which the core sampling is executed. The tube 11 is thereafter pulled upon to the ground.
