    • PURPOSE: To eliminate undrilled portions of natural ground and to enable outbreak corresponding to execuion of a curve by providing a slave machine with extensible cutters which can drill the entire surface of the cross section of a master machine, and enabling the extensible cutters to be placed on the face-side front face of the master machine. CONSTITUTION: A cutter main body of a slave machine 2 of a master-slave type two- stage shield machine is provided with extensible cutters 26, 26, and the slave machine 2 is permitted to drill the cross section of the master machine 1 while being installed inside the master machine 1 with the axis of the slave machine 2 coinciding with that of the master machine 1. The cutter main body of the slave machine 1 can be placed on the front face of a bulkhead of the face-side end of the master machine 1. Further, inside the master machine 1 the slave machine 2 is moved to a position at which it deviates from the center of the master machine 1, and can be started from that point. Therefore, the slave machine 2 can be started from the bottom of the inside of the master machine 1, etc., and can drill the entire surface of the cross section of the master machine 1 without leaving undrilled portions behind. Further, when the master and slave machines are integrated together, outbreak corresponding to execution of a curve is made possible.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the workability of transferable part between a single line and a double-line, by providing a rib protruding to the right-angled crossing direction against the axial line of a tunnel from the inside face of the flange forming the crust of the tunnel, in a segment. SOLUTION: An ordinary segment 2 is assembled by thrusting a connected shield machine in a united condition and a column 21 is erected in the middle part, when a double-line is constructed. The ordinary segment 2 and a segment 4 with a ribt are alternately used and the crust of the tunnel is made to have the same shape with the double-line part, when constructing transferable parts B-B, C-C, D-D. The segment 4 is formed of the flange 41 forming the tunnel crust and the rib 42 protruded from the inside face to the right angled direction against the tunnel axial line and the openings 3a, 3b, 3c surrounded by the rib 42 are gradually contracted from the double-line width to the single line width, in the transferable part. In this way, the tunnel body of the transferable part is supported by the rib and constructed by a connected shield machine without supports. And hence, the cost can be reduced.
