    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for controlling the particle size of produced vaterite type calcium carbonate to the desired size, in a method for producing vaterite type calcium carbonate.
      SOLUTION: In the method for producing vaterite type calcium carbonate, when an aqueous calcium chloride solution, ammonium carbonate and ammonia water are mixed and reacted under stirring to synthesize calcium carbonate, within a range satisfying all of the following conditions 1 to 4, the reaction is conducted while regulating one or more of the conditions, whereby the average particle size of obtained vaterite type calcium carbonate is controlled. Condition 1: a temperature of the reaction liquid is >0 and ≤50°C. Condition 2: the concentration of calcium chloride in the reaction liquid is 0.250-0.625 mol/L. Condition 3: an amount of ammonia water (NH
      4 OH) added is ≥0.67 in terms of a molar ratio to Ca in the reaction liquid (NH
      4 OH/Ca). Condition 4: a number of revolutions of the reaction liquid by stirring is ≥200 rpm.
