摘要： A filtering chamber for a set for the administration of fluids is provided. The chamber includes a housing providing a passageway for the fluid in the administration set. Within the chamber is a filter of screen which filters the fluid flowing through the housing. The filter or screen is attached to the housing during molding of the housing without the use of bonding agents, resulting in a chamber component which may be produced automatically and economically.

摘要： A needleless valve assembly includes a needleless connector having a housing with an inlet end with an inlet opening and an outlet end with an outlet opening, and a valve disposed in the housing to control passage between the openings. The assembly also includes a collar having an exterior surface and an interior surface, and a first end with a collar opening communicating between the interior surface and the exterior surface and a second end moveably attached to the housing. Further, the assembly includes a barrier disposed across the collar opening with a slit therethrough and including an anti-microbial material. The collar is moveable relative to the housing so that the inlet end of the housing depends past the exterior surface of the collar through the slit in the barrier. A kit may include the assembly and a catheter having a first end attached to the outlet opening.

摘要： The present invention provides a method of using a medical tubing with a pump for administering measured amounts of a beneficial fluid over time to a patient comprising the steps of providing a tubing having a first layer selected from the group consisting of ethylene homopolymers and ethylene copolymers, wherein the copolymers of ethylene are an ethylene monomer copolymerized with at least one monomer selected from the group consisting of lower alkyl olefins, lower alkyl esters of a carboxylic acid, and lower alkene esters of a carboxylic acid, the lower alkyl and lower alkene having from 3 to 18 carbons, the tubing having been exposed to a sterilization dosage of radiation of from about 15 to about 45 kGys; and pumping fluid through the tubing with the pump.
