The tighter the physical control of how a user can access a resource results in a loosening or maintaining of the password expiration period to be a relatively long period of time, whereas the looser the physical control of how a user can access a resource results in a tightening of the password expiration period to be a relatively short period of time. The password expiration period is adjusted based on both actual usage patterns as well as variances in such usage patterns.

摘要： A method, system, and program for enabling user selection of web page position download priority during a download are provided. A client system is communicatively connected via a network to a server system that downloads a web page by sequentially sending each of a plurality of portions of data that specify the web page. The client system detects receipt of a first portion of data from among a plurality of portions of data for specifying the web page. The client system controls display of the first portion of data, as it is received, within a window area of a user interface formatted for displaying the web page. The client system detects, while still communicatively connected to the server system and receiving the first portion of data, a selection by a user of a particular position within the window area. The client system then calculates offsets for defining the particular position and sends a request to the server system to adjust the download so that the next portion of data sent during the download specifies the particular position within the window area.

摘要： A system and method for using a centralized conference call manager is provided for initiating conference calls. Users register with the centralized conference call manager to set up a conference call at a future date and time. When the designated time/date arrive, the centralized conference call manager contacts the various intended attendees using a variety of contact locations (e.g., office telephone, mobile telephone, home telephone, etc.). The system further allows an intended attendee to, when contacted by the centralized conference call manager, provide a different contact number that the conference call manager will use instead. An anticipated attendee can decline the call and provide a verbal reason for not being able to attend. The centralized conference call manager records the reason and, when requested, plays the reason back to the other attendees.

When a plurality of requests is received, it is determined whether the amount of data requested by the read requests is within a user-configurable threshold. The read requests are chained together if the amount of data requested by the read requests is within the user-configurable threshold. After being chained together, the read requests may be sent to the common mirror for servicing. The common mirror, in this case, is a least used mirror in a set of mirrors. To reduce seek and/or rotational time of the common mirror, it may be ascertained that the data being requested by the read requests is within a user-configurable range before chaining the read requests together. In some cases, it may be ascertained that the plurality of read requests is to be grouped together before the read requests are chained together.
