    • PURPOSE: A composition, prepared by incorporating three types of copolymers of a specific vinyl aromatic compound and butadiene, having improved tear strength and tackiness without deteriorating the high wet skid resistance, low rolling resistance and processability, and useful for treads in tires.
      CONSTITUTION: A diene type copolymeric composition prepared by incorporating three types of copolymers (A), (B) and (C) of a vinyl aromatic compound, preferably styrene, and butadiene to give 1W15wt% copolymer (C) in the total amount of the three copolymers and 70wt% or more copolymer (B) based on the total amount of the copolymers (A) and (B). The glass transition temperature of the resultant composition is -50°C or above. The copolymer (A) is a linear polymer having 1.0W4.0 intrinsic viscosity, and the copolymer (B) is a branched polymer in which the copolymer (A) is bonded with a trifunctional or tetrafunctional binder. The amount of the bonded vinyl aromatic compound in the copolymers (A) and (B) is 15W35wt%, and the amount 1,2-bonds in the bonded butadiene is 30W60mol%. The copolymer (C) is a linear or branched polymer having 0.1W0.8 intrinsic viscosity.

    • PURPOSE: To provide a rubber composition having high rolling resistance and wet-grip performance, also of good processability, comprising a specific butadiene or styrene-butadiene rubber prepared by solution polymerization.
      CONSTITUTION: The objective composition comprising a butadiene or styrene- butadiene rubber prepared by solution polymerization, or, consisting mainly of an elastomer having a glass transition temperature ≥-50°C, with ≥70wt% molecular chains crosslinked through tri-or tetrafunctional bonding agent. Said rubber component should have an intrinsic viscosity of 1.0W6.0 (pref. 1.0W4.0) (measured in the form of toluene solution at 30°C). Said bonding agent is pref. of tetrafunctional type, e.g., silicon tetrachloride or tin tetrachloride. Incorporation of less than 30pts.wt. of natural or synthetic isoprene rubber based on 100pts.wt. of the total rubber component will result in highly balanced characteristics of the composition.

      CONSTITUTION: A branched copolymeric composition prepared by incorporating two types of copolymers (A) and (B) of a vinyl aromatic compound and butadinene within (30/70)W(95/5) weight ratio range between the copolymers (A) and (B). Preferably, the glass transition temperature of the resultant composition is -60°C or above, and the intrinsic viscosity is 1.3W4.0dl/g. The copolymers (A) and (B) are copolymers of the vinyl aromatic compound and butadiene containing 70wt% or more high polymer chain modified with a trifunctional or tetrafunctional binder. The copolymer (A) has 1.7W6.0dl/g intrinsic viscosity, and the copolymer (B) has 0.8W1.7dl/g intrinsic viscosity. The addition of 1W 10pts.wt. linear butadiene polymer having 0.1W0.8dl/g intrinsic viscosity, etc. to 100pts.wt. resultant composition further improves the tear strength and tackiness.
