摘要： PURPOSE:To omit manual operation and to make it possible to measure the accurate viscosity of liquid, by automating the measurement of the time required for the flow out of the liquid from a viscosity measuring cup having a hole at its bottom. CONSTITUTION:A Ford cup 1 has a hole 1a at its bottom. An air cylinder 4 lifts or lowers the cup 1, which is immersed in a paint 3 as a liquid to be measured in a pan 2, to and from a specified position over the liquid surface of the paint 3. A position detector 5 detects the time when the cup 1 is lifted from the liquid surface of the paint 3. Photosensor 6 and 7 detect the time when all the paint 3 flows out of the hole 1a. A timer 8 starts operation by a detected signal 5a and stops the operation by a detected signal 7a. The cup 1 is periodically moved up and down, and the viscosity of the paint 3 is automatically measured.
