    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the phase branching structure of a superconductive cable in which generation of a large magnetic field is suppressed effectively on the outside of a cable core. SOLUTION: The phase branching structure of a superconductive cable comprises three cable cores 102 having a shield layer on the outer circumference of a superconductor, a branch box 1 for containing the core 102 under such a state as the interval between the cores 102 is widened from a part where three cores 102 are collected, and a shield joint 2 for connecting the shield layer of each core 102 in the branch box 1. The shield joint 2 is formed using a superconductive material. Since the shield layers of respective cable cores can be connected with low resistance at the shield joint 2, the magnitude of a current flowing through each shield layer can be substantially equalized to that of the current flowing through each superconductor.     • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a superconducting cable prevented from temperature increase due to heat generated at a connection part when jointing cable cores. SOLUTION: The superconducting cable, composed of cable cores 10 each having a superconducting layer 12 inserted into an inner space of an outer case, turning the inner space into a coolant layer by flowing a coolant, is made to have a conduction structure by jointing the superconducting layers 12 of the cable cores to each other. A joint insulation layer is arranged at an outer periphery of a conductor jointing sleeve (conductor jointing part) 19 jointing and externally fitting on the superconducting layers 12 of the cable cores 10 to each other. Further, a coolant flow path S communicating the coolant layer and the conductor jointing sleeve 19 is formed at the inside of the joint insulation layer 20, and the heat generated at the conductor jointing sleeve is transferred to the coolant layer through the coolant flow path S. The superconductive cable 1 is thermally contracted by a cooling medium in comparison with the cable when it is installed. The connecting apparatus 11 is also provided with a first conductor 18 attached to the tip of the cable conductor 3, and a second conductor 19 connected to the other conductor 21.
