    • PURPOSE:To obtain the titled film having a specific physical property values, restricted orientation and good tear strength balance by preparing film from copolymer of ethylene and alpha-olefin. CONSTITUTION:This is ultra-high impact resistant film obtained from copolymer both of ethylene (density 0.895-0.935g/m , melt index 0.5g/10min max.) and alpha- olefin of C3-18 and has orientation function fbeta -0.1 min., orientation function fepsilon 0.1 max. and thickness 30mum max. Said film is prepared in air cooling 2 by constricting a cylindrical melting body extruded from a die 1 to the diameter smaller than the diameter of the die along a conical inner mandrel 4 arranged concentrically to the die, then, expanding it to the blow-up ratio 3 min. to form a bubble and making the height of the fixed portion 3 from the outlet of the die 5 times min. as large as the diameter of the die.

    • PURPOSE: To obtain the titled particles having uniform and fine bubbles, by impregnating a styrene monomer into PE pellets blended with specific amounts of inorganic calcium salt and a metal salt of higher fatty acid, polymerizing it to give conjugated particles, crosslinking them with an organic peroxide, expanding them with an evaporaton type blowing agent.
      CONSTITUTION: 100pts.wt. polyethylene is blended with 0.1W1.0pt.wt. total amount of inorganic calcium salt (e.g., calcium carbonate, etc.) and metal salt of higher fatty acid (e.g., calcium stearate, etc.) (a weight ratio of inorganic calcium salt to metal salt of higher fatty acid is preferably (2:1)W(6:1), the blend is pelletized, impregnated with a styrene monomer, which is polymerized to give polyethylene/polystyrene conjugated particles. The conjugated particles are crosslinked with an organic peroxide (e.g., dicumyl peroxide, etc.) to give 10W70wt% gel fraction, and expanded with an evaporation type blowing agent (e.g., butane, etc.) to give the desired particles.
      USE: A packing material, cushioning material, heat insulating material, etc.
