摘要： A faucet mounted eyewash unit for installation onto the discharge end of a standard faucet spout. The eyewash unit in a normal faucet mode position permits uninterrupted water flow through the faucet spout. In an eyewash mode, a portion of the eyewash unit is rotated quickly and easily to orient a pair of eyewash discharge ports in upwardly open positions, and to couple these eyewash discharge ports to the water flow for upward trajection of a pair of eyewash flushing streams. The eyewash unit further includes a thermostat for preventing hot water flow above a selected temperature level to the eyewash discharge ports.

摘要： A thermostatic mixing valve unit in an emergency wash unit has an integrated housing with cold and hot water inlets each having an associated check valve, and a tempered water discharge having a thermostat for cold/hot water mixing to provide a predetermined tempered water discharge. A high temperature limit valve responds to the water discharge temperature to permit or prevent hot water inflow when the water discharge exceeds a preset temperature. A cold water bypass valve is coupled by a diverter valve to the lower of the cold and hot water supply pressures to maintain a substantial water discharge flow when the high temperature limit valve restricts hot water flow or when the hot water check valve is stuck closed, or upon failure of the cold water supply as by sticking of the cold water check valve in a closed position or by a clogged filter screen.

The valve includes a plunger that defines, with other elements of the valve, a first orifice for communication of the cold water inlet with said mixing chamber and a second orifice for communication of hot water inlet with mixing chamber. The plunger is mounted within a mixing subassembly for axial movement within the bore, including in response to temperature of water within the mixing chamber to vary the ratio of flow of cold water through the first orifice to flow of hot water through the second orifice. The first orifice and the second orifice are arranged for flow of water transverse to axial movement of the plunger within the bore. The valve further includes a wax motor mounted axially within the bore for positioning of the plunger in response to temperature of water within the mixing chamber.

摘要： A thermostatic mixing valve (TMV) having a mixing chamber with a plurality of pockets defined therein. The mixing chamber receives cold water flow and hot water flow that has been passed through respective flow inlets and mechanically forced into the pockets defined within the chamber due to axial movement of the plunger. As the hot and cold flow moves into and out of the pockets, the flow streams disperse rather than being maintained in separate flow streams toward the thermostatic element. Because of the increased agitation, the thermostatic element is therefore able to sense a more accurate mixed flow temperature even at low flow rates.
