摘要： A method of dissolving and/or inhibiting the deposition of scale on a surface of a system comprises the step of bringing the surface of the system into contact with a composition. The composition can comprise from about 3 to about 15 parts by weight of a chelating component. The chelating component is selected from the group of MGDA, NTA, HEDTA, GLDA, EDTA, DTPA, and mixtures thereof. The composition can further comprise from about 3 to about 15 parts by weight of an acidic component, which is different than the chelating component. The composition can further comprise at least about 60 parts by weight of water. Each of the parts by weight ranges above are based on 100 parts by weight of the composition. The composition may further comprise a surfactant component and/or a corrosion inhibitor.

摘要： A machine dishwashing composition is provided wherein two specifically defined nonionic surfactants are utilized which in combination have been shown through empirical research to surprisingly yield improved results. One of the nonionic surfactants is an alcohol alkoxylate (as defined) and the other nonionic surfactant is a block copolymer of ethylene oxide and propylene oxide (as defined). The use temperature for efficient cleaning while using the composition extends over a broad range up to at least 140.degree. F. in the absence of deleterious foaming even in the presence of protein soil (e.g., egg and/or milk soil).

摘要： An aqueous rinse-aid composition for kitchen utensils is provided wherein an anionic hydrotrope and a blend of two specifically defined nonionic surfactants are utilized which has been shown through empirical research to surprisingly yield improved results. One of the nonionic surfactants is an alcohol alkoxylate (as defined) and the other nonionic surfactant is a block copolymer of ethylene oxide and propylene oxide (as defined). The composition is suitable for use at a temperature of up to at least 180.degree. F. in the absence of excessive foaming, spotting and film formation. The components of the composition exhibit good compatibility during storage even if elevated temperatures are experienced thereby maintaining reliable performance upon usage. Rapid high velocity rinsing at a high temperature is made possible in the absence of deleterious foam generation to yield dishes and tableware that can be readily dried without the need for the time consuming hand removal of deleterious spots and/or film.

摘要： Solid automatic dishwasher detergent tablets have a chlorine source to most preferably provide 0.5 to 5 percent available chlorine; and a chlorine stability enhancing effective amount of preferably between about 0.5 to about 10 percent by weight of one or more nonionic surfactants having the following structure: R—(AO1)x(AO2)y—OR′ wherein: R is a C6-C18 alkyl group, AO1 represents propylene oxide or a mixture of propylene oxide and other alkylene oxides, AO2 represents ethylene oxide or a mixture of ethylene oxide and other alkylene oxides, R′ is an alkyl, arylalkyl, or benzalkyl group with 1 to about 10 carbon atoms, x is 2-20, y is 0-20, and the sum of x plus y is 5 or greater. The nonionic surfactant imparts improved chlorine stability to the tablet such that greater than 80 percent of the chlorine in the tablet remains active for eight weeks when the tablet is stored at 120° F.
