    • An image registration apparatus and method are provided. The image alignment registration apparatus includes a plurality of exposing units which form electrostatic latent images by scanning light; a sensing unit which senses color test patterns to correct image alignment; an error detecting unit which detects alignment errors of test patterns in response to a sensing result of the sensing unit; and an exposure time setting unit which determines the exposure time required to form an electrostatic latent image in each of the exposing units in response to errors detected by the error detecting unit, wherein each of the exposing units form the electrostatic latent image according to the exposure time determined by the exposure time setting unit. Accordingly, by controlling the exposure time for forming images in a tandem type image forming apparatus, image alignment errors are corrected.

    • A method and apparatus for compensating image skew and an electro-photographic image forming apparatus including the same are provided. Image skew of a toner image transferred onto a paper is compensated for by inclining a photosensitive medium onto which a light beam is scanned to be parallel to a scanning line of the light beam. A first inclination member including a first inclined surface facing upward and a second inclination member including a second inclined surface contacting and facing the first inclined surface are provided, wherein a position of a shaft of the photosensitive medium is adjusted by moving at least one of the first and second inclination members. Image skew of a toner image is sensed, and a photosensitive medium onto which a light beam is scanned is inclined to correspond to a scanning line skew of the light beam.

    • There is provided a paper pickup device in a paper feeding cassette having a knock-up plate. In the paper pickup device, a first curved slot is formed on a frontal portion of each sidewall of the paper feeding cassette, a second curved slot is formed above the first slot on one sidewall of the paper feeding cassette, a shaft is protrusively inserted into the first slots from the inside of the paper feeding cassette, a connecting member is rotatably connected to the sidewalls of the paper feeding cassette by hinges, and has a first engaging portion extended upward from a body thereof and a second engaging portion horizontally spaced from the first engaging portion by a predetermined distance and a sub-plate is extended from the connecting member under the knock-up plate, for pressing upward the knock-up plate. A link lever has a spring fixing portion extended downward and a rib extended downward from an end of the link lever, the rib being inserted into the second slot from the sidewall of the paper feeding cassette. A first tension coil spring has one end connected to the first engaging portion and the other end connected to the shaft, for causing the subplate to press upward the knock-up plate, and a second tension coil spring has one end connected to the second engaging portion and the other end connected to the spring fixing portion of the link lever, for adding to the tensile force of the first tension coil spring.

    • An image forming apparatus includes a photosensitive body, and a plurality of developing devices to develop a color image on the photosensitive body. The plurality of developing devices include fixed-position developing devices, of which positions relative to the photosensitive body are fixed, and moveable developing devices, of which positions relative to the photosensitive body are changed. Accordingly, the image forming apparatus can be manufactured compactly, by mounting four developing devices, e.g., for yellow, magenta, cyan and black for the color printing such that three developing devices stand by at the respective development positions and one developing device variably moves to the development position so that the photosensitive body is reduced in diameter when compared to a conventional photosensitive body which opposes four developing devices.
